“I spent some time in California, drove up North, and found myself surrounded by the mountains, ancient redwoods, and inspiring encounters. When I returned to Germany, life itself felt like poetry. Every day, I sat in my living room, which also serves as a creative studio. The songs came flowing through almost on their own, as if they had been waiting to be written down, played, and recorded as purely as I could.”
CATT's songwriting style seamlessly blends the timelessness of '60s and '70s folk with a fresh indie spirit resulting in a sound that is rich, organic and full of character. Her journey of years spent writing, experimenting, and performing with her band across Europe has shaped a musical voice that is unique, deeply inspired, and alive.
Co-produced with band member Birk Buttchereyt, the album weaves brass, strings, harmonies, and rhythms with a virtuosity that feels effortless and organic. The arrangements, whether intimate with just voice and piano or bold with drums and distorted guitars, hold both complex depth and warm simplicity. Arriving at the studio, CATT was looking for something other than perfection.
“The realness was what was most important to me. The essence of what a song wanted to tell. Some of the songs were recorded completely live with my band, all of us in one room, simply pressing ‘record.’ It wasn’t about flawlessness, but about feeling. And when it felt right, it was perfect in its own way.”

Growing up in a tiny village in northern Germany, surrounded by forests, fields, and the sounds of classical piano and trombone choirs, CATT found music before she found words. Today, she moves effortlessly between instruments, captivating audiences with her boundless musicality and infectious joy. She has won awards for “Best Album” and “Best Act” for her previous album Change, earning worldwide attention from both the press and her fans. CATT “A Different Life” will be released as a Double LP, CD and Digital on 23 May 2025 on CATT's newly founded own label ‘Wild Heart Music’ and is available worldwide via Broken Silence / The Orchard.
For the first time, CATT is releasing her music through her own label. A move of empowerment in an industry shaped by streaming, AI, and social media. Now, full creative freedom and responsibility lie with the artist herself. More than ever, it’s all about one thing: the artist’s own vision. Creativity and quality, fan connection, and a true community. A liberation from the dictates of the algorithm — a bold decision.
And it’s not just the music release that follows new paths: Alongside the album, CATT announces an extensive tour. Tickets will be available in three price tiers. The core idea: a solidarity-based model that ensures broad access to culture. There will be a regular ticket price, as well as a Supporter Ticket at a higher, yet still fair price. Every Supporter Ticket sold will help fund a Community Ticket, available at a significantly reduced price. This enables access to the concert experience for people who might otherwise be unable to attend — for any reason. This initiative is built on trust and a sense of community.
For this project, we’ve partnered with rausgegangen, a platform that not only charges very low fees but also shares our values and supports us in many ways. No dynamic pricing, complete transparency, and a true understanding of what’s at stake here: culture. Equally important are the local promoters and venues helping us bring this idea to life. This step is also a statement of independence — freely moving past the market power of the ticketing duopoly of Eventim and Ticketmaster.
