RARE copy is inscribed to Julia Ward Howe by James Grant Wilson, Oct. 1894. Laid in is a holograph manuscript of a page and one-half, containing Mrs. Howe's transcription (from memory) stanzas 1-3; with a 2 page typed narrative of her participation in the ceremonies and her reading of "The Mariner's Dream." An unrelated ALS to Howe from A.K. Sherman of the YMCA, dated Sept. 15, 1893, is laid in.
