Vols. 5-6 were nearly completed at the time of the death of Miss Hemenway, and v. 5 was published by her sister, Mrs. Carrie E.H. Page. The ms. of v.6 (Windsor County) came into the possession of William P. Baxter of Chicago, who collected a great amount of additional material. After his death all this was burned in the destruction of the home of his niece, Miss Janette Baxter, of Jackson Springs, North Carolina. cf.
