Effective Field Theory in Particle Physics and Cosmology : Lecture Notes of the Les Houches Summer School : Volume 108, July 2017   3 - 28 Jul 2017  - Les Houches, France  / Davidson, Sacha (ed.); Gambino, Paolo (ed.); Laine, Mikko (ed.); Neubert, Matthias (ed.); Salomon, Christophe (ed.)
The topic of the CVIII session of Les Houches School, held in July 2017, was Effective Field Theory (EFT). The goal of this school was to offer a broad introduction to the foundations and modern applications of Effective Field Theory in many of its incarnations..

Lepton Flavour Violating top decays at the LHC / Davidson, Sacha (Lyon, IPN) ; Mangano, Michelangelo L. (CERN) ; Perries, Stephane (Lyon, IPN) ; Sordini, Viola (Lyon, IPN)
We consider lepton flavour violating decays of the top quark, mediated by four-fermion operators. We compile constraints on a complete set of SU(3)*U(1)-invariant operators, arising from their loop contributions to rare decays and from HERA's single top search. [...]

A facility to Search for Hidden Particles at the CERN SPS: the SHiP physics case / SHiP Collaboration
This paper describes the physics case for a new fixed target facility at CERN SPS. The SHiP (Search for Hidden Particles) experiment is intended to hunt for new physics in the largely unexplored domain of very weakly interacting particles with masses below the Fermi scale, inaccessible to the LHC experiments, and to study tau neutrino physics. [...]

Flavour Matters in Leptogenesis / Abada, A ; Davidson, Sacha ; Ibarra, A ; Josse-Michaux, F X ; Losada, M ; Riotto, Antonio
We give analytic approximations to the baryon asymmetry produced by thermal leptogenesis with hierarchical right-handed neutrinos. Our calculation includes flavour-dependent washout processes and CP violation in scattering, and neglects gauge interactions and finite temperature corrections. [...]

Flavour Issues in Leptogenesis / Abada, A ; Davidson, Sacha ; Losada, M ; Michaux, F X J ; Riotto, Antonio
We study the impact of flavour in thermal leptogenesis, including the quantum oscillations of the asymmetries in lepton flavour space. In the Boltzmann equations we find different numerical factors and additional terms which can affect the results significantly. [...]

From weak-scale observables to leptogenesis / Davidson, Sacha (IPPP, University of Durham)
Thermal leptogenesis is an attractive mechanism for generating the baryon asymmetry of the Universe. However, in supersymmetric models, the parameter space is severely restricted by the gravitino bound on the reheat temperature $T_{RH}$. [...]

Updated Bounds on Milli-Charged Particles / Davidson, Sacha (Theoretical Physics, Oxford University ; Oxford Univ., Oxford, UK) ; Hannestad, S (NORDITA, Copenhagen, Denmark) ; Raffelt, G G (MPI, München, Germany)
We update the bounds on fermions with electric charge $\epsilon e$ and mass $m_\epsilon$. For $m_\epsilon\lsim m_e$ we find $10^{-15}\lsim\epsilon<1$ is excluded by laboratory experiments, astrophysics and cosmology. [...]

Neutral Higgs Sector of the MSSM without $R_{p}$ / Davidson, Sacha (CERN) ; Losada, Marta (CERN) ; Rius, Nuria (Valencia U.)
We analyse the neutral scalar sector of the MSSM without R-parity. Our analysis is performed for a one-generation model in terms of ``basis-independent'' parameters, and includes one-loop corrections due to large yukawa couplings. [...]

Dark Matter Abundance and Electroweak Baryogenesis in the CMSSM / Davidson, Sacha (CERN) ; Falk, Toby (Wisconsin U., Madison) ; Losada, Marta (CERN)
The Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model has a candidate dark matter particle in its spectrum and may be able to generate the baryon asymmetry of the Universe (BAU) at the electroweak phase transition. In the Constrained MSSM, we find the area of parameter space which is allowed by accelerator and precision tests, which produces a relic dark matter abundance in the observationally favored window 0.1<Omega h^2<0.3, and where baryon plus lepton number violating processes are out of equilibrium after the electroweak phase transition..
