Positron sources: from conventional to advanced accelerator concepts-based colliders / Chaikovska, I. (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Chehab, R. (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Kubytskyi, V. (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Ogur, S. (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Ushakov, A. (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Variola, A. (INFN, Rome) ; Sievers, P. (CERN) ; Musumeci, P. (UCLA) ; Bandiera, L. (INFN, Ferrara) ; Enomoto, Y. (KEK, Tsukuba) et al.
Positron sources are the key elements for the future and current lepton collider projects such as ILC, CLIC, SuperKEKB, FCC-ee, Muon Collider/LEMMA, etc., introducing challenging critical requirements for high intensity and low emittance beams in order to achieve high luminosity. In fact, due to their large production emittance and constraints given by the target thermal load, the main collider parameters such as the peak and average current, the emittances, the damping time, the repetition frequency and consequently the luminosity are determined by the positron beam characteristics. Shaping trailing beams for beam loading via beam-induced-ionization injection at FACET / Amorim, Lígia Diana (SUNY, Stony Brook) ; Vafaei-Najafabadi, Navid (SUNY, Stony Brook) ; Emma, Claudio (SLAC) ; Clarke, Christine I (SLAC) ; Green, Selina Z (SLAC) ; Storey, Doug (SLAC) ; White, Glen (SLAC) ; O'Shea, Brendan (SLAC) ; Hogan, Mark J (SLAC) ; Yakimenko, Vitaly (SLAC) et al.
Recent progress in plasma based accelerator technology has demonstrated its ability to deliver high energy (GeV) beams in compact structures (centimeter to meter scale plasmas). Current developments of that technology are oriented toward producing beams with quality and energy spread comparable to those obtained using standard accelerating structures. [...]

First Measurements of Trojan Horse Injection in a Plasma Wakefield Accelerator / Hidding, Bernhard (Glasgow U. ; Cockcroft Inst. Accel. Sci. Tech.) ; Adli, Erik (Oslo U. ; CERN) ; Andonian, Gerard (UCLA ; RadiaBeam Tech.) ; Beaton, Andrew (Cockcroft Inst. Accel. Sci. Tech. ; Glasgow U.) ; Bruhwiler, David (RadiaSoft, Boulder) ; Cary, John (Tech-X, Boulder) ; Clarke, Christine (SLAC) ; Deng, Aihua (UCLA) ; Downer, Michael (Texas U.) ; Gessner, Spencer (CERN) et al.
Plasma accelerators support accelerating fields of 100's of GV/m over meter-scale distances and routinely produce femtosecond-scale, multi-kA electron bunches. The so called Trojan Horse underdense photocathode plasma wakefield acceleration scheme combines state-of-the-art accelerator technology with laser and plasma methods and paves the way to improve beam quality as regards emittance and energy spread by many orders of magnitude. Measuring the Self-modulation Instability of Electron and Positron Bunches in Plasmas / Muggli, Patric (Garching, Max Planck Inst. The self-modulation instability (SMI) can be used to transform a long, charged particle bunch into a train of periodically spaced shorter bunches. The SMI occurs in a plasma when the plasma wake period is much shorter than the bunch length. [...]
