A scalable implementation of a 3D magnetic Hall sensor card for mapping and monitoring applications / Messner, Lukas (CERN ; Innsbruck U.) ; Pacifico, Nicola (CERN) ; Baumgarten, Daniel (Innsbruck U.) ; Dumps, Raphael (CERN)
High-energy physics experiments make use of large magnets tobend particle trajectories and thus allow theiridentification. These magnets, very often custom-built, necessitatean accurate mapping of the generated magnetic field and, in somecases, online monitoring. [...]

New simulation of the CERN Gamma Irradiation Facility (GIF++) / Ferrara, N (Bari U. ; INFN, Bari) ; Iaselli, G (Bari U. ; INFN, Bari) ; Pugliese, G (Bari U. ; INFN, Bari) ; Ramos, D (Bari U. ; INFN, Bari) ; Lakshmaiah, U (Bari U. ; INFN, Bari)
The simulation of the GIF++ facility at CERN has been updated to consider the experimental area that was upgraded in 2015. A new geometry was implemented in the Geant4 simulation code to calculate dose and flux distributions in the bunker. [...]

Threshold for loss of Landau damping in double-harmonic rf systems / Intelisano, Leandro (CERN) ; Damerau, Heiko (CERN) ; Karpov, Ivan (CERN)
The loss of Landau damping (LLD) can lead to beam quality degradation in single- and multi-bunch beams in synchrotrons. In the longitudinal plane, the LLD threshold is increased by reducing the beam-coupling impedance, applying controlled emittance blowup, or employing higher-harmonic rf systems. [...]

ELDRS in a Commercial 28-nm CMOS Technology / Borghello, Giulio (CERN) ; Termo, Gennaro (CERN ; Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Faccio, Federico (CERN) ; Ceresa, Davide (CERN) ; Pejašinović, Risto (CERN) ; Bergamin, Gianmario (CERN) ; Diaz, Francisco Piernas (CERN) ; Kloukinas, Kostas (CERN)
Evidence of enhanced low-dose-rate sensitivity (ELDRS) in total ionizing dose (TID)-induced leakage current increase was observed in ring oscillators (ROs) and static random access memories (SRAMs) in 28-nm CMOS technology exposed to ultrahigh doses. Elevated temperature irradiation on isolated devices is used to evaluate the dependence of ELDRS on bias conditions, device size, and threshold voltage. [...]

Turbulence and Magnetic Reconnection in Relativistic Multispecies Plasmas / Imbrogno, Mario (Calabria U.) ; Meringolo, Claudio (Goethe U., Frankfurt (main)) ; Cruz-Osorio, Alejandro (UNAM, Mexico) ; Rezzolla, Luciano (Goethe U., Frankfurt (main) ; CERN ; Trinity Coll., Dublin) ; Cerutti, Benoît (U. Grenoble Alpes) ; Servidio, Sergio (Calabria U.)
Simulations of relativistic plasmas traditionally focus on the dynamics of two-species mixtures of charged particles under the influence of external magnetic fields and those generated by particle currents. However, the extreme conditions of astrophysical plasmas near compact objects such as black holes and neutron stars are often characterized by mixtures of electrons, protons, and positrons, whose dynamics can differ significantly because of the considerable mass contrast. Five-dimensional gravitational Raman scattering: Scalar wave perturbations in Schwarzschild-Tangherlini spacetime / Akhtar, Samim (IMSc, Chennai ; HBNI, Mumbai) ; Bautista, Yilber Fabian (IPhT, Saclay) ; Iossa, Cristoforo (U. Geneva (main) ; CERN) ; Zhou, Zihan (Princeton U.)
In this Letter, we study scalar wave perturbations of arbitrary frequency to the 5D Schwarzschild-Tangherlini black hole (STBH) within general relativity. For the first time, we derive a closed formula for the 5D partial wave gravitational Raman scattering amplitude applicable to a broad class of boundary conditions, expressed in terms of the Nekrasov-Shatashvili (NS) function for the reduced confluent Heun problem.
