Modeling and metrological analysis of an X-ray diffractometer for crystal-assisted collimation in particle accelerator
/ Arpaia, Pasquale (Naples U.) ; Gargiulo, Simone (CERN ; Naples U.) ; Gavrikov, Yury (Kurchatov Inst., Moscow) ; Masi, Alessandro (CERN) ; Scandale, Walter (CERN)
A FEM model of a double-crystal diffractometer and its metrological analysis is proposed for a complete characterization of bent crystals involved in the process of particles collimation in the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, in terms of miscut, bending and torsion angles. The model reproduces the laboratory measurement procedure based mainly on a 2D scanning algorithm and a π rad flip of the crystal under test. [...]

Results on Multiple Coulomb Scattering from 12 and 20 GeV electrons on Carbon targets
/ MUonE Collaboration
Multiple scattering effects of 12 and 20 GeV electrons on 8 and 20 mm thickness carbon targets have been studied with high-resolution silicon microstrip detectors of the UA9 apparatus at the H8 line at CERN. Comparison of the scattering angle between data and GEANT4 simulation shows excellent agreement in the core of the distributions leaving some residual disagreement in the tails..

A smart adjustable Inelastic Nuclear Interactions counter based on compact Arduino control system and readout
/ Iacoangeli, F (INFN, Rome) ; Natochii, A (CERN) ; Gavrikov, Y (St. Petersburg, INP) ; Garattini, M (CERN) ; Cavoto, G (INFN, Rome) ; Addesa, F (INFN, Rome) ; Montesano, S (CERN) ; Scandale, W (CERN)
We realized an embedded system, easy to install and to calibrate, remote controlled and adjustable in order to equip an extracted beam line of a precise Inelastic Nuclear Interactions (INI) counter. The system made up of the Nuclear Interaction Detector (NID) and of a motorized, two arms, translation stage which allows precise positioning and scan of different inelastic nuclear scattering angles. Characterization of the quartz surface quality with $\beta$-source
/ Natochii, A (Taras Shevchenko U. ; Orsay, LAL) ; Addesa, F (INFN, Rome) ; Bezshyyko, O (Taras Shevchenko U.) ; Breton, D (Orsay, LAL) ; Burmistrov, L (Orsay, LAL) ; Chaumat, V (Orsay, LAL) ; Cavoto, G (INFN, Rome) ; Dubos, S (Orsay, LAL) ; Garattini, M (CERN) ; Gavrikov, Y (CERN) et al.
We present a method for characterizing the quality of the Cherenkov quartz radiator. It is based on the scanning with $^{90}$Sr radioactive source (standard deviation is 1.17 mm) of the radiator surface and measurements of the Cherenkov light rate and amplitude, detected by the PMT attached to the quartz bars.
