Large aperture beam separation dipoles (D1 magnet) must be developed for the interaction regions in the high-luminosity large hadron collider (HL-LHC). We report the test results of the second short model magnet of the beam separation dipole for the High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider. The test shows that the second model has a good training performance and is capable of operating at the ultimate current that corresponds to 108% of the nominal one. [...]
