Have you tried this?! Do you want to now?! Blog... | By Hammons Nest | Have you ever tried printing on fabric? Well, in this video, I'm going to show you how I print on Drop Cloth Canvas material. It's a really cool technique and I hope that you feel inspired to give it a try on your own. I'm Summer with Hammons Nest. com and I will go ahead and tell you it's hard to get all the details in, a little video tutorial like this so you can head over to Hammons Nest. com and there's a blog post with the detailed instructions and supply list to help you if you want to try this one out. So, I am using Canvas Drop Cloth to prep. You'll want to wash a Dry your canvas drop cloth then cut it to size of a regular piece of paper eight and a half by 11. I have another piece of cardstock here. I'm going to use some glue sticks for the edges. Now there are different techniques and options for you to do the printing on fabric. I have found that I really like this glue stick option the best out of everything that I have personally tried but there are lots of methods for which you could do this. So you can see I'm stretching the fabric out onto the cardstock even after I ironed it and cut it. Then you're still going to a little bit of excess hanging off there and you'll want to get rid of that. We're now ready to print. So, I'm going to go load this into my HP inkjet printer which is just a very basic printer. Nothing fancy. I've had this printer for years and it gets the job done. So, I wouldn't want you to think you have to have any special kind of printer to do this. Now, as far as a laser printer, I don't know how much it will soak into the fabric as much as the inkjet does. So, that would just be printer to printer. Also, it depends on how your printer loads. You could run into some print jamming issues. I'm not going to say that you won't but it could have to do with either fabric hanging over the edge or your glue not having enough glue in the corners whenever you attach it to the cardstock. So those could be some issues that you could check if you are struggling with that. But I've had great success with this technique. So that's why I'm sharing it with you and I feel confident doing that just because it works so well for me. Now I am using an eight by 10 design on an eight and a half by 11 sheets. So I just trimmed up some of the edges a little bit there. And I peeled this off. Now I'm going to use some fray check here because as much as I love frayed edges I just don't want it to completely unravel. And once I do that I'll be able to display it in the beautiful vintage clipboard that I'm going to show y'all. And then I have another option where you don't peel it off the cardstock and I'm going to show you a different way to display it. But this vintage rabbit and a vintage church design that I'm about to show you are part of my Easter blessings collection which is a set of four printable designs actually. And you'll find info on that in the blog post as well at Hammons Nest. com. So it's ready to go. Look at this vintage clipboard. I'm going to put it in there. This is like the easiest craft ever because if you get the printing on fabric good then you just put it in a charming vintage clipboard like this and suddenly you have beautiful and unique decor for spring or Easter. Lastly some sweet little greenberry bush sprigs and that one's done. I'll show you it styled at the end. Now let me show you this church design. I'm going to do all the same steps that I did on the rabbit but instead after I trim it up I'm not going to peel it off the cardstock because I want to give it a little bit more stability behind there because of how I'm going to display this one and once I get it trimmed up I'm actually going to pull out this vintage slacks pants hanger which how easy is this just pop that right in there so see it gives it a little bit more substance having the cardstock still on the back but you can't see it you get that really pretty charm and texture from the drop so there you have it two simple ways to display printed fabric and drop cloth canvas it's not the only fabric you can print on so I encourage you to play around with this experiment in your own crafty ways and let me know if you plan on giving this a try thank you so much for hanging out with me today don't forget to head over to Hammons Nest. com for even more details on these beautiful projects buh bye.

Rusty Monogram Decor DIY: Create Stunning Letter D Craft
981K views · 10K reactions | How to create rusty monogram decor | Hey, Friends! It's been awhile, but I am super excited to share a new DIY with you. Join me tonight at 8pm (est) for this fun budget friendly rustic DIY.... | By Burlap Kitchen | Hey, friends. It's Emily from Burlap Kitchen. com and today, we're going to make a super cute rustic monogram little frame. I guess you would call it, little decoration. So, you're going to need some jumbo popsicle sticks. You can get these at Walmart and the first thing I'm going to do is I'm going to go ahead and cut the ends. I don't like the rounded ends on the end but if you like that, you could you could leave it but I prefer them to be straight. So, I just use my Fiskar scissors. I will link them below in the comments. Just remind me, I tend to forget sometime just remind me and I'll I'll give you my affiliate link for those. So, I'm just cutting all these down and now I'm just going to lay them out and kind of even them up as I go. Now, I'm going to take some smaller popsicle sticks and I'm going to glue on the back. This is just going to secure everything and hold everything in place. Next, I'm taking some white chalk paint and I got, I believe this chalk paint came from Walmart. Um any chalk paint will do and then I'm going to give it a nice dry and I'm going to go ahead and paint the back so it just has more of a finished look. And again, I'm going to go ahead and give that a quick dry. Now, I'm going to take my jumbo popsicle sticks again and I'm going to cut one for the bottom and for the top and I kind of want them to lay flush against the edge of my frame and then I'm taking some half wood beads and I'm just kind of sitting them in place here and making sure they line up nice and then I'm going to go ahead and hot glue them. Doing it this way just make sure that it it everything lines up nice for your project when it's finished. It all looks the same. I So, I'm just gluing those down real quick. And now, what I'm going to do is I'm going to create sort of like a rusty metal effect. So, I'm going to take some dark gray. I want to say this color is graphite but it's a darker gray color. Any darker gray would work for this and I'm just going to paint both of these little pieces that I just made and I'm just using the cheap, the apple barrel paints from Walmart. They work, actually, no, I think these were craft smart but the cheaper acrylic ones. Those those little small containers, they work really good for projects like this. So, now that all painted. I'm going to give it a quick try. Once it's dry, I'm going to go in with a metallic silver color and I'm just going to roughly paint it here and there just randomly. So, then I'm going to go ahead and dry it. Now, I'm going to use some baking soda and some brown paint and I'm going to mix this together. This is going to create a really cool looking rust effect. It actually looks almost real if you see it in in in person. It looks just like rust. So, I'm just going to go around and rust the top and the bottom here or both pieces I mean. Sorry guys, I'm out of practice. It's been a while since I've done a video. I've been I've been out for a while. So, I'm excited to get back into the groove of things. So, now I'm going to go ahead and sand this rough sand over my my whiteboard and then I'm going to run some of that baking soda and brown paint mixture over the wood just to make it look rustic and kind of blend in with the rest of the project. And I'm just using a cheap foam brush. Those work great for projects like this and then I'm going to put, I'm going to hot glue these at the top and the bottom. These little, they look like little pieces of metal. So I just glued them into place. And then I'm going to come over and use the D. I'm using it to make it like a little monogram but you could definitely put a heart in the middle or anything you wanted really. So again I'm going with that graphite gray and then I'm going with the metallic silver and just kind of randomly putting that on. And then again we're going to go with some baking soda and some brown paint and we're just going to dab that all over just to give that really cool rest to looking effect. So give me some heart you're loving this project. If you think you'll give this one a try, let me know in the comments. I would love to know if you plan to try this one. So then we're going to hot glue this right in place just like that and there you go guys. You have the cutest little rusty looking monogram to sit on a shelf or somewhere like that and I hope you guys enjoyed this fun project.
