Arès est le dieu de la guerre dans la mythologie grecque. Il fait partie des 12 grands dieux du canon Olympien. C’est le fils de Zeus et d’Héra. Toutefois, les temples voués au culte de ce dieu sanguinaire sont rares en Grèce. Ayant tout de même un très fort caractère, Arès incarne à lui seul la Tempête venue de Thrace. Mais ce dieu violent n’est ni agréable aux yeux des dieux, ni sympathique au regard des Hommes.
