Pumpkin Spice Granola - Autoimmune Wellness
Fall can bring nostalgia to even those who live in season-less environments. I grew up in a small beach town in Central Florida, and I can count on one hand the number of times it dipped below 80 degrees on Christmas Day. And Halloween? Even warmer! Yes, wearing a homemade felt frog costume was just as suffocating as it sounds. But those few weeks sprinkled throughout ...

Green Detox Smoothie - Autoimmune Wellness
With the holidays over, it’s time to restrain any indulging we allowed ourselves and get back on track with our healing. Are you ready? This vibrant smoothie will see you off to a great start. Apple, kiwi and kale on their own are worth their weight in Vitamin C gold but together they are dynamo. Make sure to choose a Granny Smith though. Some varieties have extremely high levels of sugar and ...

Pork Roast with Balsamic Reduction - Autoimmune Wellness
Balsamic vinegar is probably my all-time favorite condiment (certainly my all-time favorite AIP-friendly condiment). I put it in everything. Salads, marinades, even ice cream. There’s just nothing like it and the flavor’s so versatile! Pork, on the other hand, rarely shows up in my diet because it can be so darn expensive. But every now and then I’ll find a good price on a ...

Ginger-Lime Salmon with Watermelon Mint Salsa - Autoimmune Wellness
I am not surprised to say this is my third salmon recipe for Autoimmune Paleo! I can’t help that this flaky, buttery, nutrient-rich fish is my favorite food and one I enjoy 4 to 5 times a week! My body just positively craves it almost every single day. I attribute that to wild salmon’s stellar nutrient profile. It’s a wonderful source of omega-3’s, selenium, ...

AIP Spiced Butternut Wedges with Avocado Lime Mayo
Winter squash was never one of my favorite vegetables. Even the fall favorite, pumpkin, just didn’t do it for me. Pie, puree, latte, I just wasn’t having it. But when you embrace a whole-foods diet like the autoimmune protocol, it’s a bit more fun if you do it with a sense of adventure. So, every fall, I try to find at least one new ...

Maple Sage Breakfast Patties - Autoimmune Wellness
Here is a new addition to my collection of breakfast patties — see my Italian-Spiced 50/50 Sausages and Three-Herb Beef Patties elsewhere on the blog! I think you will thoroughly enjoy the flavor stars in this one, maple and sage, especially when combined with pork. Breakfast patties are a batch-cooker’s dream — like I’ve mentioned before, I like to cook a batch of these and ...

Fruit Cake Bites - Autoimmune Wellness
Sometimes recipe development just sort of…happens. I was in the kitchen four different times between November and January trying to perfect my recipe offering for February (yes, we start working on ideas that far in advance), but it just was not working. I was getting so frustrated trying and I was about to concede another defeat when I opened my pantry and looked at ...

Pina Colada Candies - Autoimmune Wellness
Pineapple and coconut go together like peanut butter and jelly. It’s one of those combinations that sounds too simple to be phenomenal, but when those flavors hit your tastebuds… it just feels right. Virgin pina coladas were one of my favorite things to order with dinner when I was a kid (as opposed to a soda, though I’m not sure if the pina colada was ...
