But first, don't forget to share this so it'll save to your profile and you can find it when you're looking for it later. I started with six 10-inch pieces of fabric. 10 inches wide, 10 inches long, 10 by 10 square. The first thing I'm going to do is sew them end to end. Pretty side to pretty side. I'm going to sew this one to this one. Gonna open it up and then I'm going to lay this one over and sew it here. So I'm going to have three pieces sewn together. Straight stew Quarter inch seam. Back stitch when you stop and when you start because my grandma said so. This is called an origami bag and that's exactly what it is. Some origami. The folding of it is the only thing that's complicated. It's all straight stitches and really cute when it's finished. So I have three pieces of fabric sewn together. This isn't hard. It's just a little bit confusing. So I'mma show you and then I'm going to show you again. This is my let me make sure you can see it. Okay here's all three pieces of my fabric. This is my middle piece. I'm going to fold it up like this. Then I'm going to fold this piece up like this and I'm going to sew right here. Straight stitch. Quarter inch seam. Back stitch when you stop and when you start. So now what you've done is you've sewn three pieces together. One, two, three. And then you folded this one over and you sewed it. Take off the sewing machine. It looks like this. This side is not sewn. These two sides are sewn. So here's our little pocket. Do y'all see that pocket? Going to fold it up like this so it makes a triangle and then you're going to fold this one over you want to make it into a triangle too. You're going to fold it up just like that and you're going to connect these two. The folding of it, the way you move the fabric around is the is really the only part that's even remotely difficult. It's a super easy bag to make. So, this is the lining of your bag. Looks like this. Okay? Here's the front of my bag. Looks exactly the same way. The next thing you're going to do is take one strip of fabric. This four inches wide by 54 inches long. Now, I was using these fat quarters so I pieced mine. You can do that. Use one strip of fabric. However, you decide to do it. Then, you're going to take it to the ironing board. You're going to fold it in half and iron it just like that and then, you're going to fold each side in just like that. Fold it back over and iron it down. Now, we're going to go top stitch down each side of our purse strap. Thank you Missouri Star Quilt Company for sending us these gorgeous fabrics. I have linked the fabrics in the comments. All of these projects that we're making are are being made with Fat Quarters. So everything you see is Fat Quarter Friendly. These fabrics are all from the Laguna Sunrise Collection by Moda and y'all always ask for Fat Quarter Friendly projects. So that's what we're doing. We're making all of our Easter projects and these cute little bag out of these fat quarters and y'all I cannot wait to see the ones that you make. So we have our outside of our bag and our lining. We're going to turn our lining right side out. Gonna put our strap on the outside of our bag. Gonna clip it at the corners just like this. So we want the strap facing the pretty side. We want the strap facing the pretty side of the lining. Okay? Make sure that your strap is not twisted. Clip it to both corners. We have that done set that to the side. Now we're going to take the outside of our bag and turn it inside out. We're going to put the lining and the strap down inside this bag. Now what we're going to do is we're going to sew here, here, here, and here. Except we're going to leave a hole so we can turn it right side out. So you're just sewing all the way around except for a hole probably about three inches ish. So you have room to turn your bag right side out. A fat quarter is one fourth of a yard cut fat. So instead of cutting it long and skinny it's cut in half and in half again. So instead of having nine inches by the width of the fabric you have roughly 18 by 21. We've done it. So, now we're going to turn it right side out. Pull everything out from your hole. After you turn it right side out, I want you to go iron yours. I'm going to go iron mine. I'll be right back. I'm back. Now, we're going to top stitch all the way around and we'll be finished. If you have little ladies like me and they need all of the purses, this is a great project for them but don't forget to Email me a photo to Hometown Quilt Company@Gmail. com. I want to see and so does everybody else. Oh my goodness. Look how perfect. Look what you just made in just a few minutes. My name is Tammy. I'm your favorite sewing teacher and I would love for you to come sew with me.

22K views · 728 reactions | Mini Market Bag | Quilting Deals - Missouri Star Quilt Co Come sew this easy beginner sewing project with me• Let me teach you how to sew like my grandmother taught me …... | By Hometown Quilt Company, LLC | Do you need this precious 10 minute bag? Let's go make it. But first, don't forget to share this so it will save to your profile and you can find it when you're looking for it later. The first thing I did was got two pieces of fabric, 20 inches wide, 17 inches long. They can be any size. This is not anything super technical. So, make the size that you think you would like for your bag, okay? I folded it over and folded it over again and I cut this out. That's it. Fold it over and over again or you can just fold it in half and cut down both sides. Doesn't matter. Easy peasy. Now I'm going to do the same thing we always do. This is the exterior of my bag. This is the interior of my bag. The pattern pieces are exactly the same. So I'm going to fold them pretty side to pretty side. Okay? Pretty side to pretty side. On the exterior piece I'm going to sew here and here. On the interior piece on my lining. I'm going to get I'm going to I'm going to sew here and I'm going to leave a hole to turn it right side out. Straight stitch, quarter inch seam, back stitch when you start and when you stop. Don't look at your needle. Look at your presser foot and your fabric. Thank you Missouri Star Quilt Company for sending us these precious fabrics. These are all from the Laguna Sunrise Collection by Moda. All of these projects that you see are fat quarter friendly. All you need to make this bag two fat quarters. Easy peasy. And you guessed it. I'm going to sew around here and then I'm going to turn and sew around here. Straight stitch, quarter inch seam, back stitch when you stop and when you start. And just ignore that my handles are sewn together. Yours should not be sewn together. Mine should not be sewing together. But I did it and then I had to take it out later and cut that part out of the video. So do not sew your handles together. This is what happens when you're making up a pattern as you go instead of doing a test run and then videoing. Sorry that y'all. But this bag is super cute. We're almost done and I've decided now I want to box my corners. So I'm going to match up my seams and I'm going to sew directly across here. And then I'm going to snip that off. It's about an inch probably. And I'm going to do that on all four corners. Both corners of my lining in both corners of the exterior of my bag. When I first started sewing boxing the corners was very intimidating to me. So if it's intimidating to you just skip this step. You absolutely do not to box the corners but if you want to, I want you to. Bags and baskets are currently my obsession evidently. I guess it's Easter and having little ladies. Alright, we've boxed our corners. You can do that before you sew your top together if you want to. I just didn't think about it and then when I was about to turn my bag right side out, I thought I really do want to do that. So now, we're going to turn our bag right side out. Now, we're going to close the hole in the side of our bag and then we're going to go, well, I'll tell you that. First, let's close the hole in the side of our bag. And we're going to go iron all of this. Now, when I go iron mine, I'm going to iron one side. I'm going to fold it in and iron it so that when I come back, I can put this side inside of it and sew it together, okay? So, I'm going to iron all of this flat and I'm going to iron one of these raw edge ends open. I'm going to fold it down and iron it too. So, it'll be a pretty finished edge. Okay, so we have one raw edge and one edge that's folded under. One strap. So, I'm going to take this strap and slide it inside this strap and I'm going to sew this shut right here on the top. Now, I'm going to top stitch all the way around here and all the way around here. Easy peasy. These would be great happies in an Easter basket or a great container for an Easter happy. But don't forget, whatever you make to email me a photo to Hometown Quilt Company@Gmail. com. I want to see and so does everybody else. And look what you just made. A precious bag. Super great for all of your little trinkets that you need to carry somewhere or make it a little larger and it would be a great market bag. My name is Tammy. I'm your favorite sewing teacher and I would love for you to come sew with me.

Doll Diaper Bag | Come sew this easy beginner sewing project with me• Let me teach you how to sew like my grandmother taught me … I teach easy beginner sewing projects... | By Hometown Quilt Company, LLC | Y'all need this tiny little purse for your little lady. We're going to use ours as a diaper bag. Let's go make it. I started with one piece that's ten by 15 for the front. I quilted mine. You do not have to quilt yours if you don't want to but if you want to, I want you to and one piece that's ten by 15 for the inside. And two pieces of ribbon. This is one inch gross grain ribbon. 10 inches long. The first thing I'm going to do is take my front piece and I'm going to fold it up. So that. Pretty side to pretty side. And I'm just going to sew down both sides. Then I'm going to take my piece from my lining. I'm going to fold it up the same way and I'm going to sew down both sides. But on one side of the lining I'm going to leave a hole. I'm going to sew here and here. And I'm going to leave this open right here so I can turn it right side out. You can pin, clip, mark, whatever it is you want to do. I'm not and y'all don't yell at me. I'm sewing this with a straight stitch and a/ 4 inch seam. I'm going to get my quarter inch seam by following the edge of my fabric with the edge of my presser foot. Do not look at your knee I'm going to backstitch when I start and when I stop. Because my grandma said so. I wish my grandmother were here today to see all the things that y'all creating from the skill that she taught me and I love that y'all are passing this skill on to the little people in your life. She would be so proud of me and she would be so proud of each and every one of y'all. Y'all know what I didn't do? Leave a hole. Just like I told y'all to. And I didn't do it. So here I am with my handy dandy seam ripper that Missouri Star Quilt Company sent us to use. It's most like they've watched us sew. So we're going to take our lining and turn it right side out. Then we're going to take our handles. We're going to fold them up. Make sure they're not twisted that they are flat and put them anywhere you want them on your bag. My handles are ten inches long and about an inch and a half from the side seam of the bag. Then we're going to take our lining with our handles clipped on the outside. You see that? They're on the outside. Not the inside. On the outside. And our lining is right side out. Gonna put our hand in it and we're going to put it down in the the front part of our bag. So when we get it in here we're going to have lining handle front part. Pretty side to pretty side. The only thing we really want to do right here is to make sure our side seams are lined up. After I've made sure it's in there and it's flat my side seams are lined up. Then I'm just moving my clips to hold all three pieces. The lining, the handle, and the exterior of my bag. And then Easy peasy y'all. We're going to sew in one big circle and it's going to be done. Well, not quite but almost. Quarter-inch seam, back stitching when you start and when you stop, not looking at your needle, following the edge of your fabric with the edge of your presser foot. I used some ribbon but you can make your handles if you want to and you can make them a touch longer. I made mine pretty short because my ladies are pretty small and this bag is super easy to modify by just enlarging the fabric a little bit if you want it a little larger but as always, however you make it, don't forget to e-ma me a photo. Ta-da. Now we're going to take our hand put it in our hole and pull our bag through. Now y'all know the drill. Push out your corners. Fingers. Handy dandy tool. Chopstick. Do not use your scissors. You all keep telling me y'all do it anyway and it's a terrible idea. You will poke a hole in your project. And when you do you'll be crying because you have a hole. I'll be crying because you didn't listen to me and then everybody's crying. So let's just don't do it. Oh my goodness. Y'all it's so sweet. It is sweet sweet. Now I'm going to take my lining. Find my hole and I'm going to close it up. So my diaper bag is fairly small, okay? I have little people. They're three and they're Bible bags were smaller than this and y'all saw them with those. So it's a good size for them. Actually the Bible bags are about the same size. But y'all saw them and it's a good size for them. If you have bigger people you may want to make your bag a little bigger. All you have to do is just increase the size of your exterior and your interior lining fabric. I'm going to close my hole up I'm going to push my lining down into my bag and y'all if your little people aren't into baby dolls, this will be a precious little purse for them. It's so cute. I'm going to fold it in and I'm going to top stitch all the way around and by top stitch, I just mean a straight stitch. I'm just going to stitch a little closer to the edge than I normally would because it's usually the last finishing stitch on a project and I'm going to show you some about your machine. Do you see this box right here that holds all your handy-dandy tools? You slide it off without losing all your stuff. And put it to the side. It makes this smaller so my bag will fit on there nicely. And then when you're done you just slide it back on. The little ladies spend one night a week with Paw Paw and every time they go they have to pack a bag. And y'all it is the most randomness. I saw one shove in into her bag. One shoe, a half a banana, baby doll pacifier and a watted up piece of paper. But if you ask her she needed every single thing she put in that bag. Oh my goodness. Gracious. Look how stinking cute this is to hold all of our little baby supplies. I love it. Now, while you go make yours, I'm going to go make a second one. My name is Tammy. I'm your favorite sewing teacher and I would love for you to come sew with me.
