Via• @bluewreninteriors This simple technique also referred to traditionally as ‘pickling’ is the application of an almost translucent paint wash (a small amount of light coloured paint or primer mixed into water) to subdue golden orange tones in the wood before applying a top coat. The paint wash allows the wood to remain lighter in colour and as what it looks like raw. Q: Do you use wood conditioner? A: no - Q: What ratio do you use? Steps included in the reel, read below for more in depth information! ⬇️ These are my personal favorite steps to achieve a natural/light stain finish… 1) Apply chemical stripper, working in sections. You want to be sure to coat your sections generously but not to the point of it becoming “sloppy” as the stripper processes, you may notice it starting to look as if it’s drying out, when that happens I apply a bit more over those sections to ensure it does not dry out which will cause the stripper to not work as effectively. 2) Wood bleach - I buy the powder form that you mix into hot water. When doing so make sure you are using a mask AND gloves, as well as a good ventilated area. I applied two coats for this dresser,
