Thundurus (Raijin) and Tornadus (Fujin)
Why did i represent Thundurus and Tornadus? Because they are respectively inspired (largely but not only) by Raijin 雷神 (thunder kami) and Fujin 風神 (wind kami) in Japanese mythology. My illustration is greatly inspired by the print that represents the 2 kami. I adapted the design and clothes of the Pokémon to get closer to the design of the kami.
Basculegion (female)
Basculegion (female form), jumping up the Obisian Falls in Hisui. Basculegion is inspired by the Parahucho perryi fish species living only in Hokkaido and close to extinction. A nice parallel with the extinction of Basculegion in Pokémon lore! I really like Basculegion, which has a design that looks very Japanese with its tail in clouds. I wanted to draw the female here, since I had already represented the male in a previous illustration of my Legends Arceus series. I also wanted to change from
