One word, one liar

Everyone secretly receives the same word except the liar, who gets nothing but the category. Three players are enough to start, and up to twelve can join.

Give your clues

In the speaking order, each player says one short hint about the word. Citizens show they know it without giving it away, while the liar improvises to blend in.

Vote for the liar

After the clues, everyone points at the player they suspect at the same time. When phones vote and the count ties, the vote simply runs again.

The liar's last chance

Catching the liar is not quite the end. The liar gets one guess at the word, and a correct guess steals the win back.

Three ways to play

Classic tells the liar who they are. Fool hands the liar a similar decoy word, so they have no idea it is them. Spy adds a secret helper who knows both the word and the liar, from four players.

One phone or many

Pass a single phone around the table, or open a room and let everyone join on their own phone with a QR code.
