sewing marathon results and rain........

As I said in my previous post zoom day started off all international except for me for quite some time..........yes I know I do start early but its to work around some of the time zones.......
As I was on with all the international girls I had to duck out and do a job that took a little longer so I grabbed some flowers on the way back in since there were all talk of winter prep and potential snow..........brighten their day........
As i said in my earlier post I started with epp paper prep doing some gluing........it was mindless and good to do while just chatting away............
But then I picked up Floral Blue Lanterns again.........
you forget how far you have come but this photo was taken in 3rd July.
Prior to today I had added in the whole right and part of the bottom left with a narrow gap up the centre that I had to sew in.........was not the best idea leaving a U shape.......
This was the end of the day..............now to decide if it is the size I want and if that's it to start the edge pieces.............Sounds like I have tempted several girls to think about making this quilt..........yippee....
another photo from during the day.......thankfully Sylvia in Germany didn't miss this zoom......she really does make an effort and no matter what time of day night it is she will join us......
so nice to see everyone again.........we had Sandy join us as a newby..........
I think my tally was 27 bloggers popping in and out all day..........
Later in the evening I had to make a dash inside as I could hear rumbling and suddenly packed up and made a mad dash for the house.........
I got the cream blocks added onto this Lucy block...........she's coming together...........
And that ended the night at 10pm with the night owls Annette in Vic and Lou in NZ........
16hrs of zoom sewing, chatting, fixing the problems of the world.......
Storms with heavy rain had been forecast for the weekend......
While I missed them with just a smaller amount of rain 13mm on Saturday night Sunday was a different story on Sunday and we ended up with water front views after another 77mm resulting in 90mm for the total........my front lawn turned into a pool............
This morning it is replaced by a purple carpet of jacaranda flowers.............so pretty........so pleased I got the lawn mowed Sunday morning before the bulk of the rain............
This was a pic of the creek before the rain when I went for a ride between showers to deliver some eggs to the neighbours..........it is flooded now......
a storm building.........
The creek flooded yesterday afternoon........
OK thats all the news for the weekend........
Hope you are all well..........
Catch you later..........

hand stitching.....

The other day the sky was looking pretty.........this is over some of the barley crop and then the clouds..........makes my heart sing.........
the advantage of being up early zoom sewing in the shed I got to watch the sunrise over the silo's.........
So what did I sew this time.........I worked on Blue Lanterns again.........
joined these 5 onto the side of the top........
started to join the section below to add to the top right side.........
Everytime I go onto zoom sewing I get very excited to see who i'm going to catch up with....
Its just a wonderful.....very easy conversation.........everyone working away and it's amazing what everyone achieves.........the only upside of Covid19 I can see we thought to try zoom sewing.....clearly i'm not the only one of us that needs this time to connect with like minded people.......
Below is a list of the girls who joined in this time..........a few of you have asked for the blog names etc so here it is.......its great to see you getting around and checking out the girls who are new to you and leaving comments and connecting after the sewing sessions..........
And I just have to do a little squeal of excitement when a couple of you have blogged again......after a big break.....its great to see what you have been sewing.......

playing with the layout with a photo.....

Playing around working out if things are placed right..... I did this before but goodness knows where the pics are at.... They had been grouped but what was supposed to go where???
Anyway I wanted to sew more of this and I was at a stand still till I did this.......
Hope you are all well.
My holidays got cancelled since we can't go thru Queensland now. When will I get to see my kidlet?
So P%) _#=%ED off as we had 1 covid case back in March in our area. Probably only a couple in our region way back then also..... Punished by the happening in Victoria and Sydney.
So since I have no life maybe next weekend I'll zoom again since it's going to be wet again and I won't be able to have visitors for lunch either.....
I'll keep you posted.....

It's a cool damp day drying the washing in front of the fire....
Have a lovely Sunday.....
Stay safe

stepping out of life

This weekend I needed to step back and take a breath. So I did.
I had a massive day chatting and sewing on zoom and sew I did. I achieved heaps.......
I started at 6am and went thru til 10.30pm......yes very long but it was so much fun catching up with everyone........it's like they were all sitting in the Chookshed with me stitching away.......with lots popping in and out around the globe as the day progressed.......it is weird working in all the time zones and that someone packed up and went to bed and when they woke they joined back in......but so much fun.........and we all have the common link of patchwork and quilting.....And there may be another person coerced to make Trail Mix with Maria and Janice.....
Early on I added the green and white block into the gap.
Goodness knows why I had a gap anyway it's filled now.........
&&&&&
Not having the next block prepped I moved onto another long time project.....see below.....
Scarily I looked it up and in August 2011 I started this one........I remembered Leanne @ The Stitching Room had shared a photo of hers finished just after I had just got the pattern and papers. I didn't even know she had been making it.
I should have taken a photo when I started today but at this point I had added 4 blocks on the top part of this section...........I have all the cream and blue blocks made for this quilt except the edge ones.
By 9.30pm I had added 15 blocks and I would have added the last bottom right blue block but my hand was starting to cramp after so many hours of EPP so I thought I best stop.....
Yes yes I know what you girls are thinking who have been on retreats with me...........
THIS IS A MIRACLE.........I was a top achiever........lol........
Thanks to all the girls who popped in......with no distractions other then a quick trip into the house to find food or use the bathroom it was so good to be out in the Chookshed......
(I tidied and cleaned a little more on Friday afternoon - still more to go)
Sew sew sew.........
I will be doing another one. We all love it.
Stay Safe.........
Catch you later..........

winter is here............

I've been busy the last few days getting an old project in order...........lots of gluing......I ran out then found another pack of glue............but just about finished all that too...........
i'll do a bigger post on this in the next day or so.............
Does anyone know the difference between the pink glue sticks and the blue ones all made by Sewline?????
it's very drab day out the window........it's chilly in the chookshed today........it's only about 10deg so far and sort of misty all morning...........14mls of rain Friday night//Sat morning.........very nice.....
A wintery week forecast..............yippee..........
what are you working on...........blogland is a bit quite for the weekend..........
I don't do I,P Or FB so if that's where your posting I don't see it...........I don't have unlimited internet usage so just look at feedly to see the blog updates.......and comment accordingly.........
OK better go find some lunch......fish finger sandwiches yummo.....
