The smell of rain on my fingertips and the petals in the breeze
I hear the sound of your gritting teeth but it’s no surprise to me.

Sometimes I wake up choking from holding back a scream.
I’ve been reading this book that’s helping me realize
You’re full of shit and I should’ve seen it in your eyes.
All your words used to sound like poems to me but now they’re getting old.
