about

Legendary New Orleans trombonist Charlie Halloran & his Tropicales return with "Jump Up" - a 15-track excursion between New Orleans, Port of Spain, Basse-Terre, Santiago, Caracas & Kingston.

The Tropicales' 3rd LP is a collection of dance music from the mid-century Caribbean - 1950s New Orleans rock 'n' roll, classic calypsos from Trinidad, hypnotic cumbia, son Cubano, French Caribbean biguine & more.

"You would have heard these sounds at the New Orleans Dew Drop Cafe in '58, or a carnival ball at the Hotel Normandie in Port of Spain," Halloran sets the scene. "The agricole is flowing, the band is just getting started & the music goes all night - set your drink on that coaster, partner up, and hit the dance floor!"

The album features an all-star cast of guest vocalists, including Cyrille Aimée, Queen Esther, Chris Murray, Drew Gonsalves, Quiana Lynell, Angela Flecha, Mia Goldsmith, & Sarah Quintana.
