I started making an adult visual novel in February of 2021, born out of a frustration at the lack of female protagonist games with a focus on lesbian content. So I figured, why not make one myself!
Yuri University
Yuri University is my first visual novel to come from this endeavour. It is a sandbox, stat-managing style VN, with 5 main girls for you to get to know however you'd like, plus several side characters that you can seek out or encounter through random events.
You take the character of a young woman coming to university with her best friend. Your character, whose name you can choose, has never had a relationship before, having never been interested in boys. When she meets her new uni house mates, they surprise her with their openness and sex-positivity, and our heroine quickly realises for the first time that she's attracted to girls.
But having taken so long to realise this, she's self-conscious about her lack of experience. Fortunately, she's in a house filled with girls who seem to be open to some casual experimenting!
Guide your character through these blossoming friendships, deciding how you spend each day. Don't forget about your studies - this is a university too!
Main characters
Your best friend for a long time, your BFF (name customisable) has come to the same uni has you. Like you, she thinks she's straight. You quickly realise you're gay, but will she realise a new truth about herself too?
The first girl from your new house you meet, Ezri makes quite the first impression. Her provocative outfit stirs a reaction in you, but it's her openness and accepting nature that helps you become comfortable with yourself.
A bubbly and happy physics student, Hannah is a fun and chatty character. She can be a bit ditzy, constantly unaware that she's showing her underwear. She also has a bit of a naughty side to her that she's eager to share with the right person.
A straight-talking, open art student, Ashley is always up for a bit of fun with friends. She may not really know what she wants from life yet, but for now she's happy to just have a bit of fun.
Quiet and reserved, Scarlett is the other art student in the house. Don't let her initial quietness fool you - once she's gotten to know you a little, she's very keen to make friends. Although she's always known she's gay, she's never been with anyone - will you be the one to change that?
Gameplay
Yuri university is a sandbox visual novel with stat management. Each day, you decide what location you want to go to, what activity to engage with, and who to interact with.
Different activities will increase your stats, which will unlock extra options in scenes. Don't forget to keep up your studies - there are three exams throughout the year, and passing them unlocks extra special scenes!
Spending time with the main characters will increase increase their affection, unlocking new scenes (including animations) with them and levelling up their relationship progress.
You'll have 100 days to get to know your favourite characters as best you can, whilst keeping your studies up in order to pass your finals. (Note: as of version 0.6x the game ends at day 80, although you have the option of going back two weeks with your progress intact. This will be extended as the games is updated and more scenes are added, with the final version reaching to day 100 and possibly beyond!)
You can also earn money in several ways, in order to buy bonuses to your stats and spicy extras.
Care has been taken to ensure a minimal amount of grind, so that you can just enjoy getting closer to the characters at your own pace.
Side characters and random events
As well as the five main characters, there are a number of other people around campus for you to meet, from a variety of backgrounds. You'll bump into most of them through random events, so keep your eyes open!
There are also random events with the main characters, which might present you with chances to further develop your relationship.
After working on it on my own for over a year, Yuri University first released in 2022. I've added 10 updates since then, with many more planned. I'm blown away at the positive reception and support that's been shown, thank you.

Hey, I just installed this a few days ago, and I'm really enjoying it so far. I have run into a small problem though. I'm in the Library, at the scene starting with Katie grumbling "Bloody...Fucking inconsiderate...ugh, shitting hell..." When I reach the point where I find the two girls having sex, I get a exception, along with a massive grey screen of code. It all starts with " Exception: Open text tag at end of string u' {color='. "
I can than roll the entire scene back and just not go into the library, but I've tried a few times at different points and always get the same results. Not sure if this is something fixable or I just have to reinstall but I thought it was worth asking. Running on Windows 7, FYI.
Regardless of whether this works or not, I appreciate the great game and am looking forward to playing more of it.
Ah, I'm so sorry about that! It'll be fixed in the next update, but in the meantime you can try clicking ignore (though I'm not sure it'll work), but what will definitely work is if you meet those two characters first! Look out for an event when you're on your way to class and see a band poster. Once you've played their scene, the library scene will play without issue.

This is such a good game, I was playing an old version I downloaded ages ago (v0.59) and was impressed with how responsive the game was to your actions. I'm excited to see what differences v0.68 will make Everything else is great about it too, the characters and their open communication make this so much better than most VN's in this genre, though it's also such a challenge to find lesbian games in the first place.

Thank you as well. It's not that I haven't played in a long time, it's that I downloaded it a long time ago and finally got around to playing and really wish I had earlier. Since I've had a day to think a bit more about why I liked it so much, a big part is the way things are and play out, nothing feels sketchy to me, it's really wholesome in a way that's pretty uncommon. <3

When will Simplified Chinese be updated?

I'm enjoying this game. One thing that I noticed between the demo and v0.67 is on the opening night, whilst MC is jilling off, Scarlett does the same outside your room door. yet in the game this isn't shown
Yeah, I actually wound up removing it for narrative reasons! The whole game is played out from MC's perspective, without hearing the thoughts of others or seeing scenes MC doesn't see.
Except for that one time right at the beginning, where you saw Scarlett in her room. I felt it set a bad precedent for the rest of the game and eventually took it out.
Canonically it still happens though, as Scarlett admits the following morning :3
Just to clear up a doubt, did you leave it optional for Hannah? Whether she wanted to use the girdle or not?

Not at the moment, and I don't currently have any plans for it. That may change in the future of course :)

Yes there's a fair bit now! It's all fairly late game and it's all optional, but there's strap-ons during the day 60 party, Hannah's level 5 scene and the level 6 scenes of BFF, Ezri, Hannah and Scarlett (and Ashley when I make it!)

Loaded up the new update... but it's saying "You've reached the end of the current version" despite me only just having installed 0.68.
I'm at day 80 in the game.
Even going back a couple of days, saving, and reloading doesn't help.
When you reach day 80, you're given the option to set the day back two weeks, keeping all your progress. You can do that as many times as you want in order to see the new content each update adds :)
.....okay. I'm freaking out. Officially.
I was so Excited. I just updated my YU on the itch app seeing you just released a new one (yay - Hannah!!) -- but, upon starting the game, all my saves are gone. No saves. Nada. I will CRY.... I maxed out everyone and put SO MUCH EFFORT into all the girls -- is my data lost? Will I have to start over from the beginning???
(Not blaming you, obviously this is an itch thing - but this has NEVER happened with just an update here - what in the World....)

I'm not too familiar with the itch app, but what platform do you play on? If it's android, the saves are often baked into the app, and so deleting it between updates may also delete your saves.
If you're on PC, shoot me a message on discord and maybe I can help, I'll at least give it a go!
I'm on a Mac; I've always played this game via the app (it's usually just - easier on Macs in general to download that way), but this was my first time doing an update. Still: I've never had any issues with updating other games, hence me being so freakin Confused. The only thing I can think of... maybe because I didn't do the last update? (I wanted to wait for one of the main girls' content before diving back in) But - that would be stupid, if that's the reason....
I'll do some digging around tomorrow and see if I can uncover some save files or roll back the update or - SOMETHING; put my Millennial to the test. If all that fails - I mean: there's nothing I can do - I'll have to play it from the beginning. Which will really suck, but... I guess I'll just wait for you to be finished with the entire game and then do it. I couldn't bear this happening to me again. Thanks for caring, regardless - you're awesome.
Like I said I don't know about the itch app, but I might be able to help a little bit.
Renpy saves on Mac are supposed to be stored in $HOME/Library/RenPy/ and then a Yuri University folder. If the app uses the same file type, which I assume it does, at the very least I could either help you reconstruct your lost save, or even just give you a little boost to speed through the early game easier.
I won't finish making the game for at least a year, so that would be a big wait, but totally understand 😥

So, I checked my files via app -- this is the basic setup:
I didn't really see anything 'save' related beyond 'save location'. If you could reconstruct my save, that would be amazing; I sent a friend request on discord. But even if I'd have to wait a year for everything to be done (and I'm mainly here for the main girls to be completed), I'd just take the loss and be patient. I checked one of my other app games and saw that those saves were lost too/the game reverted to the beginning like YU did, so I'm pretty sure this was a 'itch app update' issue -- nothing else makes sense. Gonna contact them and see what's up there. Thanks again for all your help!

(FIRST) - Thank you, again, for going Above and Beyond to help me recover/play my saves with this latest update. I was bereft and you - -Saved me from the pits of despair.
B: Oh my Good Golly Gee - Hannah's last scene was Phenom -- Exactly what I expected from the awesomely(naughty) open bae she is. I've always loved how Han rides the line of: ridic Cute, yet Sexy at the same time, and it Really was on display here. Also, just - adore making my babes' fantasies come true. 🙂↕️💯 I played through alll the options(duh), and they were All yum/equally hot. And I continue to love the consent + Communication during these scenes ('What would you like?' 'Would you like me to call you something?', remembering safe words, etc.) I also feel like your animations got smoother? They were looking Great in these scenes!!
But not gonna lie: My heart just aboot MELTED at the end when she got quiet with that '....come here.', and - taking off MC's glasses to *see* her (I wear glasses - so this hit esp Hard). And that: 'I love you.' ACK *clutches pearls* I swoon, with Hannah being such a LOUD(FUN) character, yet her love confession was so quiet and still. So much was in her eyes in that moment and I - not only felt like I Accomplished something Great, but also appreciated the ish out of it. Utter Gorgeousness, chekkin. 10/10
Looking forward to checking out librarian scenes next, but - REALLY looking forward to Ashley's last scene. It feels fitting she's the last of the girls to get there; I actually really like that she's not into traditional labels/romance. (and while I'd love to be - - Anything with her, really - and earn that 'I love you', I'd be happy with whatever she's comfortable in giving. <3)

honestly my favourite adult game. im not really a fan of visual novels but when i first found this game i could NOT put it down. lesbian adult games are niche enough but this is an absolute gem, i came back to the page to play a new update because i haven't been on this in a while and i really felt the need to comment how i felt about yuri university!! this is overall such a well-made game and the characters feel like people, not sex objects. and the consent might actually be the cherry on top. never stop updating this game! <3

I love this game so much! Literally the first and best lesbian VN besides Love Curse Find Your Soulmate and Scarlett won me over SO HARD especially during her character development arc. I hope there is more to come because I really want more. I'm as far as curious for lots of endings if we make it by Day 100. Such as when they all graduate and much more. I need my MC x Scarlett Happy Ending 🥺

Yuri Uni is one of the best Lesbian games out there, I came many times to it already hhe. I'm M18 but love lesbian stuff lol along with straight stuff. Massie r u les or bi? For sure I'm les but I sometimes play straight content for the girls. As for any other games so far, I've really enjoyed Actual Roommates (Steam) so I totally recommend for another Les game, for straight I say V-lover (it's a bit grindy but worth the content), and lastly Vampires Sex&Blood (Steam). Other games I'll have to try them out before I let you know.

Well, I created account only for this comment but no regrets installing this game tbh, tried many games of this type and just didnt like them and uninstalled them faster than flash runs, but this somehow seems bit fun, tryhardin library minigame, yet still like 4books left on hard diff, but I finished Scarlett scenes pretty fast or atleast I think it said that was all and that makes me wonder, how hard is making game like this? Also.. not sure if someone said it alredy, but Emily looks weird to me. 🤐🤐

How hard it is to make a game like this depends on your prior experience, but as a guideline I released the first version 3 and a half years ago, and I worked on it on and off for over a year before that.
If you want to give it a go I definitely recommend it! But I'd suggest starting with a small VN first, just to get the basics down.

Pros: This is a game where the character interactions are much more subtle and complex than 90% of the NSFW games on the market. The Dev has create a whole universe of interesting varied characters. Cons: Because the world of characters is so large many of them appear only once with a note hinting at potential future chapters. (Side note: I would love the MC to e able to purchase or get a strap-on to pursue a more domme path.)

I'm working my way through all the character content! I think there's only one side character now who only has a single scene.
There are many strap-on scenes already in the game, though they are in much later scenes. Hannah level 5, Ezri & BFF level 6, and the day 60 party all have optional strap-on scenes!
(The version I downloaded only went to day 50.)
Whoa, that's ooooold. I expanded the day to 80 back in v0.60. The most recent version is v0.67.
No wonder you had so many characters who only had one scene! If you're interested, I'd recommend downloading the latest version on this page. There'll be a lot of new content and changes to enjoy!
when I extracted the latest download this week it gave me the 0.59 version dated 9/9/2023. What did I do wrong?

Hey Chekkin, the game continues to be phenomenal! Thank you for making a rare lesbian harem game, but also managing to make a game that doesn't make you feel like a creepy slimeball lol.
The single best part of your game is how open-minded and horny everyone is, and how careful everyone is about consent. It's so genuinely refreshing to play a sex game where everything is above board and it doesn't get into "well normally this would be a crime, but I'm the protagonist so it'll somehow seduce them" territory.
Continuously I'm more impressed with your scenario and character writing each update! Excited with how close we are to the end of of this game, and I'll definitely be there for your next one!
PS - are the patreon cheats exclusive to patreon members? I've seen other creators add a .txt file with the cheat to the most expensive build on itch, so itch supporters can use the cheats too. No worries if it's patreon only, but figured I'd ask

Great game! Just one small point of frustration: I have all of the events (so far) completed, except for the streaker event. The hint just says to "see if anything else happens next time," but nothing does. Is there something I need to do to trigger the change?
The streaker, not the flasher? "Other events around campus", numbers 7?
There isn't anything more to that event than just seeing it. That hint sounds like it's from the flasher, Suzy, so there may be a glitch going on. I'll look into it.

You were correct, it was Suzy. For some reason I just assumed it was referring to the streaker because that one happens so often and because Suzy was a named character, so any time Suzy's event would happen a second time, I reversed time to preserve my one random event for the day to try and get something new to happen for the streaker. Thank you for setting me straight!

Edit: I did get them all! It felt so satisfying to figure it out, but that was DEVIOUS. Congrats on making the process of getting those last 8 stand out from other VNs
Glad you got them all! :D out of curiosity, which were the ones that were particularly tricky? I didn't go out of my way to make them difficult, though I did realise getting some solo shots, like in the cafe, does take some finagling :3
Is there an expected conclusion or finish to this or will it always be continually updating?
I have a conclusion planned! Once the last two characters have gotten their relationship level 6 scenes, I can start setting up the endings and the final scenes. It'll still take a while, but that's the plan!

I'm starting a second play-through and would like to buy the cheat codes so I can skip things like earning money this time around. I've noticed the cheats are version specific, though. If I buy the 0.67 cheats will they work for future releases or will I have to subscribe to Patreon to stay current?
I'm afraid they are version specific, so the codes for v0.67 won't work in future releases.
However, you can use the cheats to max out all of your stats, affection and money, and that will stay part of that save. You could even start a new game, play through the intro and then max everything, then keep that save separate for anytime you want to start again.

Quick question but what if you make a nudist mode version of your yuri university game , where the plot is similar but difference , every women in the campus is naked , the premise is that the students will be mandatory naked ,where both the faculty and students will have to embrace nature and nudism, they will not only do regular classes but also do nature activities like petting some animals and hang around in nature ,skinny-dipping, hang out in nudist beach and also do lesbian sex. will you be interested in that?
Nudist School is in development, not exactly what you are suggesting, but in that vein.
Beyond that, it sounds like you might have an idea for a game that you can make.
About saying that Nudist School is in development, but not exactly what I are suggesting, well there was one that involves nudist school before renaming to Nudist university https://chun94.itch.io/nudis but I was thinking that Nudist School will be similar to Yuri university but with all of them naked and with the female main character as the protagonist, you can make it different with only females, give it a try.

That's actually pretty awesome usually some creators will pick one of their favorite characters from something they create you love them all but I still love the dynamic between all the girls and also I can't wait for more scenes with Suzy because I'm not going to lie the streaking scene with her at her stopping in the middle and going " KITTY!'literally had me laughing for a day and a half

Such an amazing game honestly. Been wondering if you'd be adding any close-up shots coz I love admiring all the characters and (as weird as i feel saying this) their pussies too lol. Either way I've spent a crazy amount of time playing so thank you for making it!

Have you seen the different photo shoots you can do with the characters? There's a few closer shots, though nothing super close. I'll see what I can add in the future.
