guilhemflouzat Miraculously prosaic and metaphysical, all emerging from a single thin drone. Unbelievable.

Robert Edmondson Extremely soothing album of Zawinul chords, beautiful lyrics, and a percussion track that sounds like an unplugged instrument cable. Favorite tracks: Bonus Material, YouTube Channel, and Trees Are People

“This Book Just Fascinates Me” This book just fascinates me The buzzing summer sound It tells you from above Why all the world is round It isn’t undiscovered It isn’t even lost The undisputed matter Electrostatic frost It decorates the messages It makes them much more good It’s what they call “distortion” As if they understood And in that dream I heard you I heard inside your mind The trip you made to Africa In very little time But the information got to me In layers piled up dense That polyrhythmic music Was almost like I went But no, alas, I didn’t And from myself it flew Like a tub they pulled the plug from And everything I knew It emptied out beyond me Off to who knows where So I dried off and got my clothes And went just back to everywhere
2.
“Famously Forgotten” Famously forgotten By all but a few And held by a thread Till we tugged, so we knew And brought in what survived From the punishing elements Almost wholly abandoned It didn’t make sense It almost did happen This gift was nearly lost So close to discarded Passed over and tossed In fact that’s what happened Except for those few With eyes that could see They knew what to do Vouchsafe the unwanted Brush off the dirt The work of our hero Impoverished and hurt Famously forgotten By all but a few And held by a thread Till we tugged, so we knew
3.
“That’s A Nice Idea” That’s a nice idea Let’s see what it brings It’s one in a thousand But so isn’t everything That’s a nice idea Let’s see what it says When we knock on that door In real-life high-res That’s a nice idea Let’s see how it feels We’ll put on the kettle And make the shit real That’s a nice idea Some fall by the way But let’s not let this one Not this one today That’s a nice idea It gives off that light Like that full-moon intensity I’ve been feeling all night That’s a nice idea So shiny and sleek Like a sport car just purring I’ve been feeling all week I’ve been feeling that feeling Of about to arrive That’s a nice idea This one’s alive
4.
“Bonus Material” Bonus material Sugary cereal This dream’s more ethereal With bonus material CD hidden tracks At the end where they go You forgot it’s still spinning Or you already know Whatever the case It’s up to no good Just cause you can Doesn’t mean that you should But this time, by Jove This time it’s not trash This is a bonus I’d never skip past Bonus material Sugary cereal This dream’s more ethereal With bonus material DVD extras Always the worst When you scroll through the menu The bubble will burst The world the work made Is a delicate globe And watching the extras Is like mystery disrobed Outtakes and bloopers Alternate ends Interviews interspersed With the movie again But this one’s a gem I don’t have that reaction This bonus material Is the feature attraction Bonus material Sugary cereal This dream’s more ethereal With bonus material

“Things Have Turned Out Great” I am in a boat I go to the dock I connect the rope Now it’s time to rock I climb up and go Walking on the wood Then I hit the lawn Now I’m feeling good I go up the hill Fading rays of day Million-dollar house Now it’s time to play Through the sliding doors Of the basement room Looks out on the lake Here I make my tunes Fire up the gear All those pretty lights Stars are coming out Now I’m feeling nice Things have turned out great Everything’s in place Time to hit record And play my short-scale bass
6.
“Masterpiece 5000” You’ll get there eventually Keep plodding along Masterpiece 5000 The road will be long Don’t try to keep count Don’t trouble yourself Let someone else judge Sort merit from wealth I must have 5000 That are wonderful enough And that’s a tiny percentage Of my overall stuff Masterpiece 5000 I’ve gotta be there My efforts have substance This isn’t hot air There’s no way I’m deluded There’s surely no way Just look what’s been written Just look at my resume It’s surely 5000 It’s probably more Masterpiece 5000 Is long out the door It’s roaming the world With a skip in its step Wait, what’s that you say? Am I really not there yet? I must’ve misheard you I only have one? And it isn’t even finished? It’s only half-done? You’ll get there eventually Keep plodding along Masterpiece 5000 The road will be long
7.
“Facts And Conjecture” Facts and conjecture I’m partial to both Facts and conjecture Are both really fun I walk to the park I walk on the beach I’m partial to moonlight I’m partial to sun Out of the mist Or into the mist I’m making a list Of things that I like I like to submerge I like to splash up The basketball swish The volleyball spike With magnetic tape Or computers today You can turn the voice backward Or music wrong way round The thunder in the valley The tone of the sea The violence of capital Is wholly unsound I’m building a theory A step at a time A new grand piano That won’t weigh a ton Facts and conjecture I’m partial to both Facts and conjecture Are both really fun

Mountain Air 03:11
“Mountain Air” The autumn isn’t here The summer’s just begun But today I swear the air It felt like autumn I call it “mountain air” The feeling that I get It isn’t simply cool It’s also clear It’s also clean, it seems It seems like every scene Every scene is sharpened By the snap The mind will want to learn It’s so much clearer now So clear that learning Springs us from a trap I taste a taste for ladders Cozy little goblin Not too proud to start one From the bottom The autumn isn’t here The summer’s just begun But today I swear the air It felt like autumn The autumn isn’t here It isn’t here at all But today the mountain air It felt like fall
9.
“Cream-Colored Car” Cream-colored car German and square Driving me mad Driving me there I wish you were mine Driving me everywhere Cream-colored car Wherever you are, wish I was there Winding around The road by the sea Those clouds with a flash The flash of my keys Cream-colored car So boxy and dense The choices I make You make them make sense Cream-colored car The sweetness of cream Cream-colored car The car of my dreams
10.
“There’s Always More Oblivion” There’s always more oblivion Always further void There’s always deeper tumbling Always Pinker Floyd Ever-louder subs Cars vibrating worse There’s always more oblivion Step into my hearse Step into the vacuum And let that fucker bloom We’ll probably fall forever Buried in this tomb Buried in this casket Buried in this grave That time it felt like dying Tripping at that rave Roaring like a fire That never wants for fuel Out here on this ship That never wants for fools There’s always more oblivion There’s always room to grow Step into the ocean Step into the undertow There’s always more oblivion More for you to know
11.
“YouTube Channel” I bought an old guitar And taught myself to play And I became an expert It only took a day I took off all the strings And put them in the bath Those reflective surfaces Always make me laugh I went back to the thing And thought to make it sing I’ll sing into this hole right here And fill the bath with strings And on this YouTube channel I’m here to show you how You won’t believe how fast it is How soon you’re saying “Wow” Just do the things I say The things I thought to do And you’ll be just like me by then Cause you can do it too I took off all the strings And put them in the bath Those reflective surfaces Always make me laugh
12.
“Trees Are People” Trees are people Trees are people who have died This I know Because I’ve been inside I went inside a tree And there inside I saw A baker from the 50s But tiny like a doll His face was very blue And his hands were on the walls The fingers grew like branches And that was hardly all They’d pushed into the sides They’d melted into bark As they’d become the thing That swayed there in the dark He used to make the muffins He used to make the bread It only cost a nickel Or that’s what someone said But when he died, he shrank And turned into a tree And now that this I know I never want to see one I jumped right out and ran Until I could no more So I collapsed and fell Upon the thankless floor And in the night, I died The fear had did me in That and too much running Then sleeping in the wind Now you won’t have to guess Because I guess you know Cause you can hear my voice I’m just outside your window
13.
“These Are Merely Sounds” These are merely sounds You’ll notice there’s nothing to see These are merely sounds It’s only sound It’s okay to see the sunlight on the hill And your bicycle is there upon its side The grass is poking up there through the spokes That hold the wheel together from the inside These are merely sounds You’ll notice there’s nothing to see These are merely sounds It’s only sound It’s only natural to clock the sun’s decline And to register a drop of some degrees You pull your jacket on—it’s nicely warm From lying in the sun—it’s very pleasing These are merely sounds You’ll notice there’s nothing to see These are merely sounds It’s only sound
