My fave track keeps changing between"Déjà Vu" (a total club banger), and "Gaze" (more of a dark, mechanical slow burn which reminds me of DEPECHE MODE in a way).

HANA is right at the top of my 2020 favorite LPs list. Favorite track: Déjà Vu.

We are born in nature as a ray of light and return to nature through countless pendulum movements. At the end of our lives that have been fought and built through countless journeys, we are all in the 空 (Sunyata).

There are many emotions that make us human. Among them, the feeling of 'love' is like the great yet dangerous Sun. The Sun is the source of all the energy that causes the wind, circulates the current, and makes life grow, which is the mother of all living things. But like Python's tragedy, if the Sun gets too close and uncontrolled, the whole world becomes a sea of fire and ends up in ashes.

CIFIKA describes the love she experienced to the Sun, in every view of its burning passion and wonder through her music. How does her Sun sound like?

CIFIKA is obsessed with every moment of her life. The moment she wakes up from a dream, the moment she looks into one’s eyes, the moment she holds one’s hand, the moment she walks up the street and looks up to the sky, the moment she sees the waves…intensity is what she feels in those brief moments. These moments will disappear someday, but if only she could hold on to them.

In the album ‘HANA’, earth, water, fire, and air -- the essential elements of nature that enable us to live, are combined with the modern mechanical elements, unfolding her presence with the intensity of every moment.

This full-length album 'HANA' is a prelude to a new journey for CIFIKA, reborn in the 空.

우리는 자연에서 한 줄기의 빛으로 태어나 수 많은 진자운동을 걸쳐 다시 자연으로 돌아간다. 수 많은 여정을 거쳐 싸워오고 쌓아온 삶의 마지막 순간, 우리는 모두 공(空)하다.

우리를 인간이게 만드는 많은 감정들이 있다.
그 중, 태양과도 같은 ‘사랑’ 이라는 감정은 위대하며 위험하다.
태양은 바람을 일으키고 해류를 순환시키고 생명이 자라게 만드는 모든 에너지의 근원이자 살아있는 모든 것의 어머니이다.
하지만 제어가 되지 않고 너무 가까워져 버리면 파이톤의 비극처럼 불바다가 되어 온 세상은 재가 된다.

CIFIKA는 그녀가 경험한 사랑을 태양에 빗대어 불타오르는 뜨거움과 경이로움의 모든 시각을 음악으로 묘사한다. 그녀의 태양은 과연 어떤 소리일까?

아티스트 CIFIKA는 살아가는 매 순간에 집착한다.
꿈을 깬 순간, 누군가의 눈을 바라본 순간, 사랑하는 사람의 손을 잡은 순간, 길을 걷다 하늘을 올려 본 순간, 파도를 본 순간, 그 짧은 순간에 느껴지는 감정들은 강렬하다.
