- The Cretan bull, whose affair with Pasiphaë resulted in the birth of the Minotaur. It was the seventh labour of Herakles to capture the bull, which he did, and brought it back to Athens. It was later released, wandering into Marathon, where it became known as the Marathonian Bull. The bull was later captured and sacrificed by Theseus.
