Notes de Beaumont has noted on the half title page: ‘Gresham Books Wallingford £1.25 6.83’. Printed on half title page: “Repertory Play No. 29.” Glassine dust jacket over white wrappers. The lower cover is not printed. The upper cover is printed in black only. The hangman, hands on hips, looks down at the head of the hung person, who is suspended by a rope round the neck. The lettering is: “/ Repertory Play no. 29/ The/ happy/ hangman/ by Harold Brighouse/ London & Glasgow/ Gowans & Gray/.” Signed upper left with the initials “TG”. The lettering along the spine is:”/ The happy hangman. Harold Brighouse/” This book acquired with the generous assistance of the British Library Collections Trust. Another copy (probably) of this work is at British Library shelf mark 11778pp1/29
