Retainer and commission-based agencies can both deliver strong marketing work.

The biggest difference is how the relationship is structured.

A retainer agency usually works around a fixed scope. You agree on the services, deliverables, and monthly fee upfront. If you need more work later, the scope and fee may change.

A commission-based agency ties part of its compensation to revenue growth.

That changes the incentive.

The team has more reason to look beyond individual deliverables and ask what is actually holding revenue back.

Maybe the problem is paid media.

Maybe it is conversion.

Maybe it is email, retention, creative, or the Shopify experience.

Because the agency has more upside when the business grows, it may take broader ownership across the revenue journey.

That does not make retainers bad.

Retainers can be a strong fit when you want clear scope, predictable cost, and specific services.

Commission-based models can make more sense when you already have traction and want a growth partner whose compensation is tied more closely to the outcome.

The real question is not which model sounds better.

It is which one fits your stage, cash flow, internal team, and growth goals.

Read the full breakdown here:
https://impmarketing.co/commission-based-marketing-agency-vs-retainer-agency-what-is-the-difference/

Product-market fit is not just about getting sales.

It is about having enough evidence that customers understand the value of your product, want it, and keep choosing it without constant convincing.

For eCommerce founders, that can show up through repeat purchases, customer growth, healthy LTV/CAC, stable pricing, useful customer feedback, and demand that continues beyond the initial launch.

That matters because scaling marketing before product-market fit is proven can hide the real problem.

If customers are not coming back, if the offer only works with heavy discounts, or if demand disappears when ad spend slows, more traffic may not fix the business.

Product-market fit gives founders a stronger foundation to scale from.

It also makes growth easier to diagnose because the team can focus more clearly on acquisition, conversion, retention, and offers instead of constantly questioning whether the market wants the product at all.

But product-market fit is not permanent.

Customer needs change. Competitors enter. Buying behavior shifts.

So even after you find it, you still need to keep listening to the market.

Prove the demand. Then scale it.

Read the full breakdown here:
https://impmarketing.co/product-market-fit-what-it-means-how-to-measure-it-and-why-it-matters/
