| DESIGN NAME: Level

 PRIMARY FUNCTION:
 Pendant Lamp

 INSPIRATION:
Unfortunately, people often forget about their first impression and emotions. That is why a collection was created to emphasize the beauty of familiar places. For example, many people live in modern megacities, and they are initially impressed by modern architecture and urban landscape, but then it becomes familiar to them. The Level collection conveyed the beauty spirit of the big city. This was done thanks to multi-level glass elements, vertical ornament and amber glass, the color of sunrise. Three suspended lamps with different shapes create a general composition reminiscent of New York at the beginning of the 20th century, with its famous skyscrapers from the time of Art Deco and the great Gatsby.

 UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The silhouette of the landscape of the metropolis in the rays of sunset is created due to the forms, materials and light properties. The lamps consist of multi-level glass forms, which in the composition create an image of the silhouette of the business center of the city, consisting of skyscrapers. Light scenarios were specially thought out so that the lower light source illuminates the functional areas of the interior, and the upper light source illuminates glass forms and creates glare and play of light on them. A vertical ornament was created on these elements to emphasize associations with early 20th century architecture. It is easy to create compositions from lamps from a large number of these products, and they will look airy thanks to translucent glass.

 OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The lamps have a bright design, but at the same time consist of rather simple shapes and restrained ornament. Thanks to this, they can be used in a wide variety of interior styles. Due to their similar shapes, pendant lights can be combined into different compositions. They can be placed in the dining room, above the bar, above the bedside table, or even create a large composition in the stair flight.

 PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in January 2023 in Moscow and finished in January 2024 in Moscow, and was exhibited in Interlight in September 2024.

 | PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The collection of pendant lights is created from three models each with slightly different shapes. The basis of the lamps is a metal frame, on which amber glasses with a vertical ornament are attached. The models have two LED light sources: Lower to illuminate the functional areas of the space and Upper to illuminate the glass, as well as to emphasize its quality and decorative properties. LED lights are made with a warm color temperature to emphasize the shades of amber glass. You can create different compositions for the interior from three models. The height of the wire is 3000 mm and it can be changed.

 RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
In order to create an image of the silhouette of a metropolis in the rays of sunset, it was necessary to come up with forms, technologies and materials that would best convey the creative idea of the project. The first task was to study the images of the silhouette of the business center of the city, to find patterns of forms. It was necessary to understand what unites them. For this, hundreds of photographs of megacities of the early 20th century were viewed at sunset. In addition, after choosing glass as the main material for the models, it was necessary to study the properties of glass and LED light sources in order to arrange them in the most successful way with a successful luminous flux and color temperature.

 CHALLENGE:
The study of archival photographs of megacities of the early 20th century, and the study of the properties of light at sunset, yielded great results, but showed the need for additional research on glass ornaments to understand how it affects the formation of glare and chiaroscuro. After that, it was decided to use a second additional light source to illuminate decorative glass elements. In particular, it was decided to use a vertical ornament, which fit the meaning of the lamps and did not interfere with the perception of its general silhouette.
