| DESIGN NAME: Space Capsule PRIMARY FUNCTION: Multifunctional Carrier Bag And Bed INSPIRATION: I noticed that pet owners buy 2 products separately as bed and carrier for their pets and in the following years pet owners buy carrier and beds again in new colors and Space Capsule will reduce their costs by offering them together. There are constant color changes in pet owners and pet fashion and Space Capsule eliminates this problem. Space Capsule creates an endless product with its variable color and fashion. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Pet beds and transport solutions are of great importance for the comfort and safety of pets. Beds have the right material and size features for the animal's rest and health. They have the right size and durability to ensure the pet's comfort during the transport journey. This project allows pets to be transported comfortably and safely both as a bed at home and while traveling. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: It is made of materials suitable for human use and has a wide and long structure so that pets do not feel safe and stressed. Pets want to see their owners when they sleep in their beds and during transportation, and Space capsule provides a safe environment for pets. Space capsule provides innovation to pet owners with its changeable outer color fabrics. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in September 2023 in Bursa, Turkey and was completed in January 2025 in Bursa, Turkey. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Materials suitable for human use were used and delicate fabrics were preferred, making it suitable for both home and outdoor use. The Space Capsule was designed to be washable and wipeable thanks to its replaceable fabric structure. Water-repellent fabrics were preferred. The skeleton structure is made of high-density fiberboard and the surrounding area is covered with a paper cylinder roll. The feet and handle are made of beech wood, and the side and front frames are made of plexiglass. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 600 mm Depth 350 mm Height 400 mm Space Capsule has a diameter of 350 mm. Weight 3650 Grm Transportation weight 0-8 Kg TAGS: dog carrier, cat carrier, dog bed, cat bed, dog bag, cat bag, Orthopedic pet bed, Pet carrier stone, Soft cat bed, Soft dog bed, Carry box, RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The most important factor behind my research was that I noticed that pet owners who came to my pet shop, which I have been operating for 12 years, were constantly buying new beds and carriers. I focused on finding solutions by listening to the ideas and perspectives of every pet owner who came to our store for 1 year in 2024 and designed the Space Capsule. When the product was completed in January 2025, it was highly appreciated by all pet lovers who came to our store. CHALLENGE: The most difficult part of the space capsule is the changeable fabric structure, which can be adjusted and the weight of the pet can be adjusted.
