interop and mathml core

Interoperability makes the web better for everyone, allowing users to have a great experience regardless of their choice of browser. We have been working on MathML Core making across browser engines as part of an agreement with the Sovereign Tech Fund. There are some exciting developments and new features!

very beautiful route, really recommended. better to go early to avoid the heat, and bring plenty of water. it's a 600m climb from the sea to the peak ^-^

yesterday i gave my first talk at fosdem on mathml interoperability! i was quite nervous and there were internet issues, but it was a nice experience :3

joining the indie web

A few days ago I found out about the Indie Web. It is a community of personal websites that uses your domain as your identity, with a set of building blocks that allows you to add content hints to your plain and simple HTML website.

reviving the devtools support in servo

The HTML and CSS inspector is able to display the DOM elements and their attributes and CSS properties. The JavaScript developer console now displays page logs. It can also run commands.

This blog post was written for the Servo blog in collaboration with @delan and @mrobinson. It highlights improvements made to the devtools support, including inspecting the DOM tree, viewing styles, evaluating JavaScript, and reading console messages.

halfway point

This arrived faster than I expected, but we are already at the halfway point of the Outreachy internship! These past few weeks I have learned a lot, faced some unexpected issues and tackled problems I didn't expect. Let me take you through them!

One of the first things I saw when contributing to Servo were the pull request guidelines. They mentioned the importance of WPT tests when adding or changing features. I knew why tests were important, but I was left wondering what WPT was. Since what I was doing was some light refactoring and it didn’t require new tests, I didn't give it more thought at the time.
