What is Copsy?
Copsy is a Mac app for offloading and backing up camera footage, built by a working DIT to the verification standards used on a film set, as a no-cost alternative to paid media managers like Hedge, OffShoot, ShotPut Pro and Pomfort Silverstack. Plug in an SD card, CFexpress card, camera, drone or audio recorder and Copsy detects it by content (Sony, ARRI, RED, Blackmagic, Canon, drones, audio recorders), then copies the footage to an external drive and, if you want, to Google Drive or Dropbox at the same time. Every file is checked with ASC-MHL checksum verification, the same standard used on professional film sets, so you can prove each clip copied bit for bit and hand off knowing nothing was lost or corrupted. Copsy organizes clips into folders by date and source, writes a delivery-ready report, and sends a Telegram notification the moment the card is safely copied.
