Happy Birthday Just Magnolia plus new Whimsy Sentiments!

are celebrating their 1st Birthday today!
I can't believe they are only 1, it seems like they have always been there!

They have a fabulous sketch for this week's challenge and are also holding a blog hop, both with fantastic prizes from Simon Says Stamp
one of my favourite stores now I am on this side of the pond!

I used this very sweet Tilda from Magnolia, she is quite old now but still my favourite although I have decided it is time to get some of those new ones, aren't they adorable?

The sentiments are from Whimsy Stamps designed by our very own talented teamie Ann Vento aka Raindrop Echo Designs.  I have used her sentiments all week as there is now something for every occasion, I may never need buy another sentiment!  Although I am sure when Ann designs some new ones for us I will certainly be using them again!  Ann has a new challenge blog starting this Sunday 18th April using Sentiments called Sentimental Sunday!  Can't wait!
You can get Ann's Whimsy Digital Sentiment stamps now in the
along with Whimsy Stamps Newly launched Digital Range!
The leaf flourish stamp I used around the edges of the circles is also a Whimsy Stamp, it is part of a set called 'spring stepping' from Crissy Armstrong's Carousel Horse Collection.
The paper is Basic Grey Porcelain and the roses are from Prima.
Hope you are having a good end to your week and hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

A cute Edwin!

to take part in the Whimsy Blog Hop
Take a Spin on the Merry Go Round
*******************************
Hope your week got off to a good start. I have had to stay in waiting for workmen to check out a couple of things in the house, a good excuse to stay in and craft though eh?
*************
I followed Bev's fantastic sketch this week over on
I whipped up a quickie today as I need to get this in the mail yesterday, the mail is taking forever at the moment!
This Edwin reminds me of Englebert Humperdinck ~ did you ever wonder what a strange name that is?
Other challenges I made this card for:
One stop craft ~ spots and dots

My magnolia image is coloured with Copics as I already had this image stamped out on Creative Smooth Cardstock ~ am addicted to distress inks just now so was sad I couldn't use them!
The papers are Stampin'Up, already had these on my desk from an earlier project ~ will show you that tomorrow as it is for A Spoonful of Sugar where I shall be a guest designer and where Whimsy are sponsoring!
The happy birthday sentiment is by Whimsy stamps from the sentiment collection.

Enjoy the rest of your Monday!

CCT, Friday Sketcher & just Magnolia

Originally for the Cute Card Thursday challenge this week which is So Charming...to use charms, I followed the Friday Sketcher's sketch #72 and also made the handmade flower to enter the Just Magnolia challenge. I am not finding time to enter all individually so when needs must.....

Denise has been so kind to me while I was without all my stash and sent me some sweet images last week, this one was included, I hadn't realised how much I missed my Magnolias!
Michelle showed a fabulous handmade flower tutorial over on Just Magnolia, I was so pleased with how this turned out, even though it was made using different flower punches than the tute!

The papers are BG (what else did you expect?) Lemonade (scrumptious), the Tilda stamp is of course Magnolia, the Autumn Day stamp is Cat's Life Press (so impressed with their direct service!) Did I tell ya I love living here! The charms are some I have had an age, can't remember where I got them, love being reunited with them though!

Just Magnolia and Stamptacular

The Just Magnolia challenge is asking for different shape cards, while this isn't strictly a card it is an alternative shape of sorts so hopefully qualifies!
The stamptacular sunday challenge is to have chocolate somewhere on your creation. I made a little pocket on my bottle decoration which is holding a packet of Thornton's special chocolate!

This is one of my favourite Edwins. He is from the Magnolia Summer Kit 2008. The papers are Basic Grey 'Archaic', I must find some different masculine papers I always resort to these!

Below is the template I used, I used my nestabilities circles to cut the top, I just stopped short of cutting out the whole circle and wound the cuttlebug backwards to take it out!

I used my Scorpal to create the folds where the points are which helps the card hang correctly on the bottle.

This is the basic shape of the box on the front to hold the chocolate. I haven't added any measurements as they differ depending on what size the chocolate bar is. I measured the chocolate bar and then added 2 cm around.

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend, many thanks for dropping in!

Just Magnolia

My cards are like buses, you don't see one for a week then you get 2 in one day! I just realised the Just Magnolia challenge will end today, where did that week go?
The sketch by Donalda is fabulous and so quick, luckily!
Keeping this post short and sweet, stamp is Magnolia, DP is Basic Grey Porcelain. Gems are Kaiser. Image is coloured with Copics.
