Whimsy Stamps August Release Showcase Day 6

Hello and welcome to Day 6 of our June Rubber stamp and Die Release Showcase
On Wednesday (22 August) Whimsy Stamps released this month's new rubber designs, new Shapeology dies, new digital papers and new Shape EZ by TLC.
From then until 28 August the Whimsy Stamps DT and Special Guests are showcasing these fabulous new goodies with a daily mini blog hop and I am part of today’s hop!
*******
I loved Whimsy's Wee Stamp Hazel  as soon as I saw her and also love Halloween decorations I put the two together with this result....

I used the reverse side of a 12 x 12 canvas, painted with black acrylic paint and decorated using
Authentique 'glowing' one of my best steals from Scrapbook Steals!
The Trick or Treat is a Recollections sticker.  The paper tape around the frame is Martha Stewart.
The rosette and the Scary are K & Co.
I used the Whimsy Stamps Banner Pennants die  and then mounted the SCARY embellishments on it.
Hazel was coloured using Copics and Prismacolor pencils, of course!
The reverse side of the canvas makes a great shadow box. Think I will be making more of these!

Now back to the hop.........

Each mini blog hop has a new release prize hidden somewhere along the way and you have 24hrs to enter each prize draw

WOYWW

Wow, Wednesday came around so quickly this week!  Can't believe it is almost Halloween!
It has turned very cold here overnight, below freezing and it is trying to snow just now!  thankfully nothing much is expected to come of it!  I really don't want to trudge around in snow for Halloween!
The Halloween party is looming so I have been busy preparing the party bags and have even set up the table!  I will hold off putting the food on though, although I do want it to look disgusting I don't really want real mo(u)ld on there!

Can't wait to have a nosey at the other desks, if you aren't familiar with WOYWW pop on over to Julia's blog to find out what it is all about!

Have a spooktacular weekend!

My Stampin' Up 'perfect pennants' die arrived yesterday and I couldn't wait to get on with my next banner!  Of course it had to be Halloween!
challenges I am entering
Sweet Stampin' challenge ~ anything goes
Simon says stamp ~ anything goes (2nd entry) - they are trying to get 1,000 entries!
Paper Sundaes ~ anything goes
Crazy 4 Challenges ~ want to see your Halloween cards and projects
Moving along with the Times ~ Spooky Halloween theme
phew, it has been a while since I entered so many challenges at once!

The papers I used are My Minds Eye 'Boo to you', I love these papers, the collection came with these really cute characters.  I have made lots of things with them, not much left of them now though!
I used my Martha Stewart punch for the edges around the pennants.
The letters weren't the colour I wanted so I covered them in crackle glaze (3 layers), they aren't perfect but then it's Halloween, nothing is meant to be perfect right?

I used part of a stamp to get the sentiment on the little tag, it came from Michael's last year.
Love, love, love banners, I predict many more will appearing soon, want to make some for the children's rooms next and then of course there will be a Christmas one!
As you can probably tell from these outdoors shots, the weather has been fabulous here too!  All about to change though, storms predicted for next week followed by cold weather, yuk!  So not ready for it!
Thank you so much for dropping by!
Hope you have a fabulous weekend! Make the most of the sunshine while it lasts!

Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes!

I am not in card making mood right now so the theme over at Cute Card Thursday was so perfect for me this week!
Anything goes!
We are sponsored this week by Tickled Pink Stamps
I was using my recipe book stand the other night while cooking when this idea for a Halloween spell book came to mind!
It caught my attention that the stand was quite gothic looking and would work well!
This is going to stand at the back of our Halloween table!
The pages are simply copy paper that I doused in watercolour paint and curled and distressed the edges.
I created the text in Word and then printed on the already painted papers.
I painted 6 sheets in total so each page has another 2 beneath it to give it the look of an old book.  In reality that is all it is, 6 pages but I have sat it on top of my Ken Hom chinese recipe book which was suitably black!
Once the printed word was on I stamped around using various Halloween images.
A spook-tacular bookmark aged with crackle glaze.
Isn't she the most adorable little witch?  I decided not to colour her in the end as I like the black and white print look.
Thanks so much for dropping by, hope you all manage to join us this week at CCT!

Mind your Mummy!

With so many fabulous Halloween themed challenges going on this week I had to play!
My time to craft ~ ghosties, ghoulies and long legged beasties
and it is digi day over at Stamp Something so this wall hanging is perfect as both the Mummy bear and the Mind your Mummy sentiment are digital images available at Whimsy Stamps!

The fabulous wooden plaque came unpainted from Michaels, I knew as soon as I spotted it what I would turn it into!
A bit of Tim Holtz crackle paint to make it nice and spooky and it was ready for the image and decorations.

Do you like the cobwebs?  They started off as an accident with my glue gun but then I liked the effect and went a little crazy with it!
*************
I am so glad it is Friday! After a great but busy weekend away last week then a week of catching up I am ready for a nice relaxing weekend at home!  We are supposed to be doing a pre-winter clear up in the garden but snow is forecast so we may be doing more snow-shoveling than anything else!
Hope you all have a good one!

Happy Halloween!

The lanterns are ready, cakes made, costumes waiting to be put on (this will happen 2 seconds after the kids walk through the door after school!) and the house is decorated!
Hope you all have a fun filled evening!
