The Catholic Church does not teach that all women should "shut up, sit down, not work, and have child after child after child." The Catholic Church teaches that a woman may indeed work and have a family, depending on what God gives her-- she just doesn't need contraceptives and abortion on demand to do any of it. St. Gianna Beretta Molla and Dr. Elizabeth Anscombe both had careers and big families: work won't bar a woman from canonized sainthood; a big family won't bar a woman from brilliance.
