Butter Biscuits
-2 Cups Self Rising Flour, sifted -1 Stick Butter, frozen and shredded -1.5 C Buttermilk, very cold. I put in freezer for 10 min -2 T Butter and some Bacon Greese Preheat oven to 400 **Cast Iron Skillet w 2T Butter and bacon grease in oven - Gradually add butter to flour and cut in w fork or pastry mixer **Make well in middle and gradually add buttermilk to flour mix, folding it together w hands **Flour ur surface and hands **Pat and fold biscuit mix gently about 12 times **Flour up ur biscuit cutter. Do not twist when making biscuit, straight down and lift out **Pull cast iron out of oven and drop in ur biscuits *Let them rise for 2-3 minutes in cast iron **400 for 24 minutes or up to 450 for a bit less time

What you'll need: • 1 frozen stick of butter (i like salted butter) and make sure you shredded. • 2 cups self rising flour (sifted) i like to keep my flour in the fridge. • 1 1/2 cups of buttermilk (freeze for 10mins) 1. preheat oven to 400 • 2. Add flour to a bowl & add shredded butter & cut the butter into the flour with a fork ( the flour should look crumbly) • 3. Make a well in the center of the flour & add buttermilk • 4. Mix until everything is almost combined • 5.Flour your surface and hands. Flatten dough with your hands. Fold over dough about 12 times (that creates layers) • 6. Flour your cookie cutter/ biscuit cutter and when cutting the biscuits press down and pull up. • 7. Add 2 tbsp of softened butter to your cast iron skillet and place biscuits in the cast iron.
