Met haar solo-debuutalbum “Moederland” brengt Little Kim, een collectie bloedmooie songs door kenners terzake omschreven als “Flandricana” of “Country geboetseerd uit Vlaamse klei”. Titeltrack en sleutelsong van de plaat is een bewerking van de song van Nathalie Merchant, in een vertaling van Lieven Tavernier.
 
Kimberly Claeys a.k.a Little Kim, volgt haar muzikale pad reeds 20 jaar en maakte deel uit van talrijke projecten en bands. Haar carrière kreeg duidelijk vorm vanaf 2008 toen ze gedurende meer dan 10 jaar lang begon te touren doorheen België, Nederland, Frankrijk en Duitsland met de Western Swing band  Little Kim and The Alley Apple 3. Hun albums (o.a. “Sugarbird”, “The Longest Mile” en “The Devil”) kregen telkens ruim aandacht op o.m. Radio 1 en Radio 2.

Via deze muziekband en muziek-smaak ontstond ook de link/vriendschap met Guido Belcanto waarvan ze sinds meer dan 10 jaar een trouwe gastzangeres is bij de talloze concerten in Vlaanderen en te horen is op enkele van zijn albums.
Tevens is ze sinds 2019 de nieuwe zangeres bij folk-legende Kadril. Corona heeft hen zeker niets aan kracht ontnomen en ook zij brengen dit  najaar een nagelnieuw album uit. Bij Kadril ervaarde ze dat liedjes brengen in je moedertaal zeer mooi en intiem kan zijn, wat rechtstreeks leidde naar de keuze om als Little Kim solo te debuteren met een Nederlandstalig album.

Country, Folk, Roots, Americana… noem het misschien “Flandricana” of “Country geboetseerd uit Vlaamse klei”. Op “Moederland”  brengt Little Kim Nederlandstalige songs geschreven/ geïnterpreteerd door Guido Belcanto, Bruno Deneckere en Lieven Tavernier, geproduceerd door Guido Belcanto @ Studio Caporal bij Nicolas Rombouts met als begeleiders “Het Broederschap”, de vaste band van Belcanto.

Voorafgegaan door enkele singles verschijnt het album “Moederland” op 14 oktober 2022. Eerste single “Laura”: een catchy ode aan dochters en moeders, deed het behoorlijk goed op diverse radio stations. Opvolger “De Tweede Kus” is nu al uit
