Mikaribaba
Mikaribaba is a youkai spirit from the Japanese Folkor, who looks like a one-eyed old woman, and whose legends are spread mainly in the Kanto region. Mikaribaba, accompanied by another youkai, Hitotsume-kozo, was believed to go to people's homes on the 8th day of the 12th month and on the 8th day of the 2nd month according to the lunisolar traditional Japanese calendar in order to take away people's shita or their own eyes. In a number of legends, it was mentioned that flames shoot out of the mouth of the Mikaribaba, and because it likes to collect rice grains that have fallen to the ground, it can cause a fire.
