Black stair treads

Ebony stain by Sherwin-Williams stair treads on a new build. We did 2 coats I didn’t want it too Black as I was wanting to still see the oak grain. However I probably would have had the painter done 3 coats and it would have been perfect. Still looks amazing.

My builder used regular trim paint on my stairs these are the stairs way my builder finished them. He used regular trim paint on the stair treads. I didnt really dislike them but within a year the treads were pretty beat up. In this picture you can see the risers are off white and the treads are black like the handrail.
