Chakravyuh ("wheel formation") is a military formation used to surround enemies, during war, in the Hindu epic Mahabharatha. It resembles a labyrinth of multiple defensive walls that only four people in the Pandavas’ army knew how to break. Karna and Duryodhana were very close friends. In the battle of Mahabharata, Karna was fighting against the Pandavas. One day, lord Krishna told Karna the secret of his birth — that he was the son of Kunti and the elder brother of Yudhishthira. Ideally he should have left the company of the Kauravas and joined the Pandavas. But Karna did not leave the company of Duryodhan knowing very well that his defeat was definite. He sacrificed his life because of his friendship with Duryodhana.
