The liver has 4 lobes - right, left, quadrate and caudate, and the falciform ligament and round ligament. The gallbladder is attached to the liver, storing and concentrating bile. Bile is a yellow-green fluid containing phospholipids and bile salts which emulsify fats, aiding in their digestion. The hepatic triad include the hepatic portal vein, hepatic artery,and bile ductules.
