The trophy alone in this piece is a force of nature. Literally. It once grew just outside the forest of the Cherokee National Forest in Tennessee. I've spent months looking for another one like it. This work has a flame like quality, a fire in its soul. It's also one of my favorite works to date. Process:  The wooden trophy is mounted to a hardwood base that grounds and solidifies the sculpture.  The wood for the base is chosen to compliment the trophy, usually walnut, cherry or oak. The base is cut, sanded, stained and finished prior to mounting the trophy which is also prepped.  It is then wired and fitted with a metal, flush-mount on/off switch.
