When designing our kitchen we wanted to keep the countertop as clear of "clutter" as possible. We thought an appliance garage would be a good idea, but then decided it would be limiting. We settled on adding a pantry cabinet to the end of our cabinets and placed an outlet in the back. The cabinet has pullout drawers, so we were able to place a few appliances on the top shelf.
