classic Candied Yams are sweet
Ingredients:
4 medium yams or sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced into rounds
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup orange juice
2 tbsp maple syrup
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp salt
Optional: Mini marshmallows for topping
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
Arrange yam slices in the baking dish in an overlapping pattern.
In a bowl, whisk together brown sugar, melted butter, orange juice, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
Pour the mixture evenly over the yams, ensuring they’re well coated.
Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
