Curtains Made to Order in the USA 1 Panel (for a pair change quantity to 2) Many Sizes (see dropdown menu) Custom Widths Available 24W to 50W max (round to nearest inch) 50W will give you more gather Rod Pockets or use Clips (not included) No Lining, Cotton or Blackout Griffen Herringbone 8.7 oz Heavier Weight Cotton Slub (linen-look slub fabrics have bumps and uneven sections on the surface that give a distinct and unique appearance) Collection in Peacoat (dark blue). Curtain Sizing To ensure panels look ample when drapery is closed, they should have a combined width that is 1.5 to 2.5 times the width of the window. That is the industry standard. The width is very important as you want enough coverage in order to get that full gathered look instead of curtains being pulled straight which will not look good. My windows are 35W. I have a pair of 50W in each 35W window. For the length, measure from the curtain rod or clips rings (not included) to where you want the curtains to drape. Some like them to puddle on the floor (not recommended with children or pets) and some prefer them to go past the sill by a couple of inches. Entirely your preference. Due to the handmade nature and stretchability of fabrics a tolerance of about an inch should be expected on the final product. Iron/Steam your curtains on the fabric side OR allow them to relax over time after being folded during the shipping process. This shop does not offer Pleats, Grommets, Back Tabs, Tie Backs, Roman Shades, Ruffle Top Curtains, Pillow Covers, Duvets, Bed Skirts, Fabric Yardage, Seaming fabrics together to make wider curtains, Widths less than 24 inches, Widths greater than 50 inches, Lengths greater than 108 inches or any other alterations or add ons not established. Rod Pockets or use Clip Rings Curtains will have rod pockets. The top header usually measures anywhere between 2 to 3 inches when laying flat for standard curtain rods. You can use clip rings instead if preferred. Not included. Clip rings keep curtains from sliding closed on the rod. Use clip rings as shown in some examples instead of putting the curtain rod through the pocket hem. Clip rings add about 2 to 2.5 inches or so to the length depending on the ones you get. The curtains open and close so easily when using them. I typically use 7 clip rings to hang each 50W panel and 4 to hang each 24W panel. Fabric Manufacturer Care Instructions All fabrics have a cleaning code of SW. This means they should be cleaned using a sponge and mild detergent then air dry. Washing machines and dryers are too abrasive for printed fabric. Customers have successfully used these machines in the past with cold water, gentle cycle, and line dry; however, shrinkage will occur, results may vary, buyer accepts risk. If you add lining, blackout lined and cotton lined curtains should never be machine washed or dried. There will be creases from being folded while in transit. You can iron the curtain fabric side on the cotton setting WITH steam. Train your Curtains When you hang your curtains allow the natural folds to form. Take each fold of fabric and gently press between your hands all the way down to the bottom of the curtain. If you can, leave them in that position and over time you will train your curtains to hang in beautiful folds. Drapery Fabrics The quality drapery fabrics I use are printed here in the USA by a small business. If you order the same fabric but on different dates the fabrics may not be from the same dye lot, therefore, there could be some variation in the fabric colors. Fabrics can look different over a computer monitor. There are different colors and textures, the pattern could be larger or smaller than you expected and there are various fabric weights. Fabrics that are over 8 ounces are considered heavier weight for drapery fabrics (see weight towards the top of this listing). Due to differences in computer screens and lighting in our homes, I recommend ordering a sample below. Although most of my customers do not order samples, maybe you prefer to see what the drapery fabric looks and feels like, so that you can make sure it will work for you before purchasing handmade to order curtains. Standard Cotton Lining (white) Cotton lining is lightweight and allows light to filter in. If you order with cotton lining, the curtain fabric and lining will be sewn together. True Heavy Blackout Lining (white) Blackout lining is white, made from polyester and heavier than cotton lining. True Blackout is made to block light from filtering through the curtain. If you put a flashlight on one side of the blackout curtain you will not see light on the other side. For example, when the sun is shining, the fabric pattern and color will not appear washed out and you will not be able to see the shape of your window through the curtain panels. If the curtain pole is hung too low or not wide enough, light will enter the room around the edges of the window. Blackout minimizes noise, provides insulation against heat in the summer and cold in the winter. If you order with blackout, the curtain fabric and lining will be sewn together.
