TGIF; Thankful Friday 366

TGIF and Happy Thankful Friday. I was just reminded that I haven’t posted my Thankful Friday post in a couple weeks. I have lots to be thankful for but I'm going to narrow it down to being thankful for my backyard and the plants that are growing, blooming and staying alive!

Here are some photos I took last night and this morning

It's so cool to see results of my hard work!

What are you thankful for this week?

TGIF; Thankful Friday #351

Hi there and happy Thankful Friday! I had a nice and quiet week and the thing I am thankful for are my blooming bulbs.

If you follow me on Instagram, you've seen my bulb updates and probably how it started. I planted four different types of flower bulbs, lasagna style. Which is supposed to give blooming bulbs throughout spring.

This is the view from my kitchen. Can you see them?

I'm excited that they have been sprouting and some of the daffodils are starting to bloom!

TGIF; Thankful Friday #350

Happy Friday! I had a nice and relaxing week and I am thankful for that. Hubby and I did some grandparenting duties each day and that was great.

The bulbs I planted in November are starting to grow. These are the ones I planted lasagna style. For more info on that, check out THIS post. I can't wait for the blooms!

I can see the four different stems. Can you?

What are you thankful for this week? I'd love to hear all about it!

Planting Bulbs Lasagna Style

This is a different kind of creative project and I'm excited to share it with you! I have been trying to grow more and more plants in my backyard and when I heard about bulb planting lasagna style, I wanted to try it!

Awhile ago I rescued about 10 planter pots from the roadside. Some I painted but these two large ones, I kept as is because I want the flowers to be the brightest thing about them.

I purchased a bunch of different bulbs from Amazon. Here's a LINK to my list if you're interested in exactly what I purchased. I watched lots of YouTube videos from actual gardeners before trying this on my own.

The basic idea is layering bulbs so they bloom throughout Spring instead of at one time. We'll get to enjoy beautiful blooms for much longer! I put the pot in a spot where I can see it from my kitchen window!

Watch my quick YouTube video to hear my tips and be sure to check back because I will keep y'all updated!

TGIF; Thankful Friday #335

It's Friday! Happy Thankful Friday to you. This week went by so fast and I'm always thankful for that! What am I thankful for this week? Hmmm...this week, I'm thankful for cooler fall weather. It was a nice reminder of how much I love fall.

It was a little tease though because it's supposed to be hot again next week. Darn you Mother Nature!

I'm looking forward to planting bulbs lasagna style (I'll keep you updated on that) and changing some plants in the front yard. The cooler weather makes it a little easier and less sweaty!
