LTCCB; Anything Goes

Hi there, it's time for another six week challenge over at the Love To Craft Challenge Blog. You can see all sorts of projects since this is an Anything Goes and all crafts qualify challenge. Be sure to check out the blog! This challenge goes from November 1st to December 15th. Plenty of time to get your project linked! I've just been notified that the LTCCB may be ending. The current owner of the challenge blog is looking for someone to take it over. Read more about it on the blog and definitely reach out if you are interested!

For this challenge, we had the option of using a cute penguin digi stamp from Polka Doodles for our project. I chose yes! I mean, how cute is this little guy?! If you saw my card from the last challenge, this card will look familiar. I basically followed the same process.

I used a fun painty book page and a sewn strip of paper and adhered it to the front of my card base, colored the penguin with some markers and added a wintery sentiment in the inside. I also used my fingers to roll the top of some of those "waves" on the book pages to give it some more dimension.

I wasn't sure how to color this penguin in since I didn't want it just a flat black so I just scribbled with a black marker and it gave a really cute & messy look. I hope you agree.

This was a really simple card since I have a container with random painty papers just waiting to be used. I just had to grab a few elements and adhere. It doesn't get much easier than that!

Now it's your turn. Check out the LTCCB page and then link up your own crafty project!

LTCCB; Birthday Girl

Hey there! It's September 1st and time for another six week challenge at Love To Craft Challenge Blog (LTCCB)! This time, I'm working with a digi stamp from All Dressed Up Stamps. Oh boy, talk about cute digi stamps! I had so much fun with this image and made multiple cards in multiple colors and sizes.

Be sure to check out the shop in Etsy to see this Birthday Girl digi stamp and so many others.

I used some painty papers and random scraps from my junk journaling stash to make this unique and fun birthday card. Alcohol markers were used to color her in.

I even tried using gray markers for a "black & white" vintage feel. I love the contrast between the gray image & the bright painty paper background. What do you think?

Be sure to link your crafty project at the LTCCB site. Remember, this can be ANY crafty project. We want to see them all!

Junk Journal Spread; Galations 3:26-28

I cut thin strips of cardstock scraps and wove them together to create a "rug" of paper. The problem with the end result was that I really didn't take into consideration the color combination so it was bright and not really pretty (of course I did not take a photo).

I put a coat of white gesso over the top and then sprayed it with an assortment of color sprays. It came out with a peachy green & brown patina that I really liked. It was too large to put on a standard card so I decided to use it in my junk journal.

I flipped through the journal to find the perfect background for the "rug". Once I found it, I adhered it with double sided tape.

Then I fussy cut some images from the #printprayslay shop along with a bible verse to glue on top of it. (These images were free on their website HERE.)

LTSCB #127; Anything Goes

The current challenge at the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog is Anything Goes. The sponsor this month is:

Sponsor: DRS Designs
DRS Designs
Prize: 20% off online store purchase

We were given our choice image from DRS Designs and I chose this super cute Leonard Pig image. When I saw it, I knew he'd be adorable on Christmas gift tags. It's so close to Christmas and November is a great time to start making tags.

I colored the image with alcohol markers. I don't do all the shading, etc, just basic coloring.

 And then fussy cut them:

I grabbed some premade holiday tags and prettied them up by adding glitter washi, a splash of silver and lots of fun ribbons. I also adhered the tags to another piece of cardstock for stability (the tags were pretty thin).

I had some jingle bells on my desk so I added some to a couple of tags. So cute, right!?! I'm definitely going to be making more of these!

Your turn...create a project and link it at the LTSCB site. Have fun!

LTSCB #126; October Challenge

The challenge at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog this month is No Cards Allowed (create anything but a card).

I received an image from Bugaboo Stamps called (Coffee Time.Perfect Blend) for this challenge. I love these digi stamps - they are so much fun! And she offers a freebie every Friday.  Bugaboo Stamps is also our sponsor this month!

Sponsor: Bugaboo
Bugaboo Digi Stamps
Prize: $12 gift code for winner

I shrunk down the digi-stamp to make my own patterned paper. Once I did that, I used alcohol markers to color the images and added some splatter using brown spray ink. I didn't like the outcome of this - the splotches were bigger than I hoped, but it still worked out.

I cut the patterned paper down to 3 3/4 x 5 1/4 as with the other two pieces of coordinating patterned papers from my stash.  I cut and matted the sentiment to be 3x4.

The rest of the layout is pretty simple.  The piece that it all sits on is 9x12" and I added a funky border strip on the left side, I matted all three pattern papers with brown cardstock, did some multi-generation stamping on the bottom right and top left corners and some punched hearts to finish the layout.

Since I had some of the "patterned paper" left, I made a card as well. I didn't add the splatters on this piece and I added a pink punched tab to the top of the sentiment. I know, I know...I'm not supposed to make a card this month, but I was in the groove with these left over pieces, I didn't want them to go to waste. :)

LTSCB; August Challenge

August is here and it's time for another monthly challenge at the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog. This month the challenge is Shape Shift (a shaped project)
and I get to play with an image from The Paper Shelter who is this month’s sponsor:
Oh my, what an honor! These digi stamps and papers are amazing! The winner receives three (3) digi stamps from The Paper Shelter!

Here's what I did with the Bride image from the sponsor:

 The close ups:

I’ll be the first one to admit, I am horrible at coloring images, but I am happy how she turned out. I wasn’t sure how to color all the white parts so I didn’t. I used a light gray alcohol marker to outline the dress and veil and then a gold marker for the lace details. Then I added some shimmer by using a clear Wink of Stella marker.

I added some gold color silk for the gold splashes, two “wedding” washi tapes and then pearls to complete the card front. To accentuate the card fold, I wrapped some gold thread to the crease. The “Mr and Mrs” banner was stamped with a Close To My Heart set and popped up with some foam adhesive. Hint: I used my MISTI to stamp this since I wanted a dark solid impression.

Be sure to click over to the LTSCB to see the DT projects and to link your project as well.

July Challenge at Creative With Stamps

Oh I had so much fun with the Creative With Stamps (CWS) card challenge this month! Scroll down to find out what I did.

And the randomly selected winner will receive three images from our sponsor.

Sponsor:

I don't have a stamp of stripes, per say, but I have had this stamp set for over a year and haven't really played with it.

When I saw the challenge for this month, I thought of this set. Now I can kick myself because I really, really like the way this card turned out.

I used the MISTI to stamp the stripes on the white cardstock. The camera image was embellished with a white gel pen. I added some Sparkle Color Silk to the card for some sparkle and shine!

Can you image the color combination possibilities with these stripes - pastel for a new baby, brights for a birthday party, metallic for a fancy schmancy occasion, etc.

I also added foam tape to the camera and the entire panel before adhering to the card base.

Now it's your turn...create a card with STRIPES as the challenge prompt and link it to the Creative With Stamps (CWS) site for your change to win this month's prize.

Have fun!

Camera Stamp Set and Sparkle Color Silk are from Fun Stampers Journey

12 Days of Christmas Tags 2018; Day 10 & TGIF #72

TGIF; Thankful Friday #72. This week I'm thankful for all the charity organizations that are coming along picking up donations. I went through my closet and managed to fill one large box and two large garbage bags of clothes, shoes, bags, etc. Who needs Spring Clean Up, when your mojo comes in December? LOL

Here are my tags for Day Ten:

I used a digi stamp from Stamp Prints to create a snowman patterned paper and then used red, green and blue Sharpies to add color. I used this sheet to make color copies onto thick white cardstock.

I cut them down to 2.5 x 5 tags. I used a black Sharpie to handwrite the to/from and to outline the tags.

These were easy, but they are so cute! I'll add ribbon to the ends when they are ready to be used.

GIVEAWAY:
I know I started the series late and the tags will probably be used next year instead of this year, but don't forget to leave a comment to be entered into my 12 Days of Christmas Tags 2018 giveaway. Be sure to go back to Day One and leave comments going forward. Your comment(s) give you one entry to the drawing.

Christmas is only five days away people!! Are you ready?

Creative With Stamps; May Challenge

I can't believe it's May already! Wow, time is flying by and Mother's Day is right around the corner. Which brings me to the May challenge at Creative With Stamps:

Prize:
Products of your Choice

I received these gorgeous images from our sponsor. These images are not something I would normally use and that's why I WANTED to use them.

I arranged the image and sentiment on my computer before printing them onto white cardstock. Once I did that, I pulled out my pastel chalks and an eyeshadow applicator to color the image. I used a gold marker and white pen to embellish the image as well as flat back pearls. Once the image was complete, I printed an extra image on white copy paper to use as a mask. After fussy cutting her out, I placed the mask over the colored image and sentiment using repositionable adhesive.

I stamped two different background stamps with two different colored inks over the entire piece. Once I did that, I splattered gold, black and sparkle silk all over.

Matted with white cardstock and then a pink card base.

I absolutely LOVE how it turned out! Now it's your turn, click on over to the Creative With Stamps website to join the challenge!
