Manly Monday Tools Card

Today's Manly Monday card is also a repurposed Father's day card made into a birthday card.

The tool stamps are by Hero Arts that I stamped onto Cryogen paper with Memento black ink and colored in with Copic markers. I cut the stamped strip down and backed it with black cardstock (Recollections). I removed the Father's Day sentiment on the card and replaced it with the red paper by CGull that I stamped the sentiment by Hero Arts and the stars by Fiskar with black ink with Hero Arts black ink

On the inside of the card, I covered the sentiment with a circle and stamped the stars and the greeting.

Good Luck card

Today's card is brought to you by Sassy Studio Designs. They are sponsoring a challenge at Open-Minded Crafts that is Luck/St. Patrick's Day. I'm not really keen on making and sending St. Patrick's Day cards so I went with the luck possibility.

I'm using Sandra's Graduation Sassy for this graduation card wishing someone good luck. I printed her out onto Cryogen cardstock and colored her in with Copic markers. I then cut her down and matted her onto blue cardstock and the white. I left a small piece of white at the bottom for my sentiment which is by TPC Company stamped with Hero Arts black ink. I die cut the star from a Quickutz die and covered it with white glitter. The flourish is a Cricut cut out of Die Cuts With a View cardstock.

The background on the blue cardstock is a Deep Red Stamp called Quantum Background. I stamped it twice, on top and bottom with black Hero Arts ink.

Purple Hello card

Today's card is very monochromatic in purple. The background paper is by Recollections as well as the white and purple cardstock in the middle die cuts. The center die cut is a Cricut cut from the Labels cartridge. It was a freebie cartridge on Cricut Craft Room. The star stamp is by Unity Stamp Co and I've stamped it onto Cryogen cardstock with Memento black ink. I colored it in with Copic markers and fussy cut it out. The sentiment is a Lawn Fawn die out of white cardstock sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. I think there may be a few layers of the die to give it dimension. The bakers twine is by Oriental Trading Co.

The background is a Stampin Up stamp. I'm not really sure if I like it but here's what I did: I stamped it with Versa Mark ink onto Ranger Industries watercolor paper. I heat embossed it with soft lilac embossing powder by Stamp N Around. It's very old but it still works so I'm not going to throw it out. Then I mixed Stardust powdered chalk with white paint and coated the background with it. I don't think it made a difference but A for effort.

Bundle of Joy & Don't forget Monday's Giveaways

I made this card with stamps by Fiskars. I stamped the hippo with Memento Ink onto Cryogen cardstock and colored him with Copic markers. I then die cut him out with a Spellbinders die and inked the inside with distress ink by Ranger. The sentiment is stamped with Hero Arts Shadow Ink and then I cut it out. The cardstock of the circle die cut behind the image is by Coredinations which is adhered with foam adhesive. The patterned paper is by Die Cuts with a View, the ribbon by The Paper Studio and the pearls by Forever in Time.

The cardstock on top is by Stampin Up and the stencil is by The Crafters Workshop. I combined Viva Color's Inka Gold Metallic Rub made for Creative Imaginations in silver and Picket Fence Distress paint together to create the medium for my stenciled part. I wouldn't suggest combining the two. The consistences didn't mix to create that perfect medium but I did so because the Viva rub is hard and reminds me of shoe polish. I wanted the silver color to be a little bit runnier like the distress paint. The two didn't mix well and the white paint creeped under the stencil separate from the silver rub. Combining the two was a mess and then the silver was dulled by the white paint. FAIL! Lol:) Then I pondered should I make a card with it and I came up with this thought: A baby card would be the best choice since sometimes they leak outside their area as well as my white paint did. You can boo and hiss in the comments. All this thinking is coming from me, the non-parent.

Have a great day everyone. If you have a chance let me know what you've tried mixing together and if it was a sweet success or an epic fail. Save me from making the same mistake.

Thank you to all the wonderful crafters worldwide willing to open up themselves and allowing me to share their Manly Monday card. There is a giveaway on the Monday post which I will link HERE

SSD Thursday Challenge

I'm back from vacation and trying to get laundry done and ready for Fourth of July. I feel like a outsider in my own studio right now but I'm sure it will feel more like home as the day goes by. The gnomes didn't clean up my mess which is a total bummer. So I'll dig through the stuff to get posts going for the entire weekend.

Anyway, I am on the Thursday challenge team this month at Sassy Studio Designs and this week's challenge is something red, white, and blue. I used Sarong Sassy {scroll down to find her} by printing her out onto Cryogen cardstock and coloring her in with Copic markers. I die cut her out with a Spellbinders die as well as the red die cut with paper by Die Cuts with a View and the sentiment die cut with cardstock by Stampin Up. The sentiment stamp is by American Crafts with black ink by Hero Arts. The rhinestones are by Darice. The background patterned paper is by Cosmo Cricket and the blue cardstock is by Recollections.

Sassy Studio Designs Release Day

Today is the day for the June release at Sassy Studio Designs. This month also marks the 6th year anniversary for SSD and so we have a large blog hop for you to participate in for prizes and later on tonight there will be a live chat you can be a part of.

I made my card with the new zodiac images and this one is Cancer which is right now, June 21 - July 22. It's a little risque but kind of fun at the same time. I printed her out onto Cryogen cardstock and colored her in with Copic Markers. The background papers are by Basic Grey and the seam is covered by ribbon from Ben Franklin's.

A little while back Cricut Craft Room had a free cut of the week and it featured all the zodiac signs and names. I took advantage of it and cut out the sentiment and the red shadow with both white and red cardstock by Recollections. The crab was also part of the freebie and the cardstock is also by Recollections. The star-like pieces are covered with Stickles by Ranger and I made the eyes black with Clearsnap's Smooch ink. I did run the two layers of the crab through my Cuttlebug with a Provo Craft embossing folder.

My card size is bigger than I usually make them. It is size 4 x 7 with the thicker cardstock by The Paper Studio/Hobby Lobby.

So leave a comment on my blog for your chance to win this cancer image as well as the other design team blogs for a chance to win their image. The complete release will be awarded to one person that comments on all the blogs.

I'm using Jungle Jane Sassy as my image for this card. I printed her out onto Cryogen cardstock and colored her in with Copic markers and colored pencils by Stampin Up. I fussy cut her out and set her aside while I made the rest of the card. The green frame paper is by Best Creations and the patterned paper in the background is by Basic Grey. The brown cardstock is by Coredinations, white by Recollections and the two greens by Provo Craft. I cut the leaves out with my Cricut and the Life's a Beach cartridge. The alphabet letters are by Lawn Fawn with ink by Stampin Up.

It's Your Day

Today's card is nice and simple with a touch of feminine charm. The flower stamp is Stampendous and I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder on Cryogen cardstock. Then I colored it in with Copic markers and generously sprayed it with water mixed with Perfect Pearls to give it that special sparkle. I fussy cut the flower out and layered it on top of two different Spellbinders dies. The white cardstock is by Recollections and the pink is by Color-Aid. The patterned paper is by Stampin Up and the seam is covered by two ribbons by Fiskars. The butterfly punch is from my stash which I think it's a Martha Stewart punch that I borrowed from someone at a crop. I covered the butterfly with a gold clear Wink of Stella pen to make it shimmery.

Anna from Frozen Sassy January Release

It's release day at Sassy Studio Designs. And I’m a guest designer for them.
My card uses Braid Heart and I printed her out onto Cryogen cardstock so I could color her in with Copic markers. Then I fussy cut her out and started arranging my cardstock and some special details. The die cut has no manufacturer because it was a prototype from a die company. Isn't it lovely? I think so. I did ink the inside of the die with distress ink after I embossed it.

The white background is a frame and I wanted to make a frame within the frame. Here's what I did, I took Clearly Besotted Dandelion Dreams stamp set and used all the sizes to stamp around the outside of the white cardstock with Versa Mark ink. Then I heat embossed the stamps with white embossing powder. Then I mixed together Stardust powdered chalk with paint, both by Stamp N Plus and painted over the entire white and orange cardstock.

Here she is close up. I'm not the best coloring artist but I'm trying my best to not be embarrassed of what I color/create with the Copic markers. They say practice, practice, and practice is how you get good at them.

I also wanted to tell you about my Sassy Studio Designs Pinterest board where I keep adding more and more cards that I find with Sassy images. Check it out.

Make A Wish w Elsa

I combined Stardust powdered chalk and paint by Stamp N Plus together and used the mixture medium with a paint brush to paint in the cape. The background of the card base is a polka dot stencil by Heidi Swapp that I inked with distress ink and an ink blender tool. The card base is by Recollections and the border is by Creative Memories. The sentiment is a tag that I cut out with my Cricut. The sentiment stamp is by Clearly Besotted with Hero Arts charcoal ink.

Thursday Elsa Sassy

Sassy Studio Designs new Thursday challenge is

It's my Thang
which means use your favorite color

Since I've been making so many Elsa cards, I figured my favorite colors right now are blue and white. I printed Elsa on Cryogen cardstock and colored her in with Copic Markers. Then I die cut her out with a Creative Memories cutting system oval and I inked the edges with Ranger's distress ink. Elsa's cape is colored in with Stardust powdered chalk mixed paint both by Stamp N Plus. I just mix the two together and apply it to the image with a paint brush. The paper behind Elsa is white cardstock by Recollections that I also painted with the chalk mixture. then I border cut the edges and corners with a punch by Martha Stewart.

The background patterned paper is by Making Memories, the cardstock on the bottom is dry embossed with a Spellbinders folder and the seam is covered by a EK Success border punch out of Coredinations glitter paper. I used the same glitter paper on the small Sizzix die cut at the bottom, behind the die cut hello. The sentiment die cut is by Spellbinders.

Wow, that was a ton of product in one little card. Hopefully I didn't bore you to tears. Thanks for looking.
