A Wonderful Adventure

Welcome back to Flashback Friday for Sassy Studio Designs. We are still in our steampunk month of images which as you may know from visiting my blog, steampunk isn't my cup of tea. But I am trying and that's the best I can do.

This week I printed the image out onto Ranger watercolor paper. I colored the images in with Peerless watercolors and distress ink. I also mixed the water with perfect pearls so my image would sparkle. The purple background paper is unknown however the black paper and glitter paper are both by Die Cuts with a View and the purple border paper and the border die are both by Tim Holtz. The cog brad is by Eyelet Outlet and the cog die cut is by Spellbinders. The sentiment stamp is by K and i Memories. I stamped it with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder by Stamp N Plus.

Wonder Woman Card

Today's card is a thank you card that I sent to friend/mentor in the crafting community. She does the nicest things for people and I wanted to send her a special card. She really inspires me to be a better person and be generous with the blessings God has given me.

The image is from Sassy Studio Designs. I printed her out onto Cryogen cardstock and colored her with Copic markers. Then I die cut her out with a Spellbinders die and inked the inside of the die cut with Ranger's distress ink (Squeezed Lemons). I die cut a different shape to put behind the image with Recollections blue cardstock. The patterned paper has all kinds of super power words on it and it's by Die Cuts With a View. The sentiment is by Simon Says Stamp on white Recollections cardstock in red Stampin Up ink. The red grid paper behind the sentiment is by GCD Studios and then the darker blue cardstock again. I tied some Lawn Fawn twine around the front card panel before adhering it to the card base and then embellished with some Lawn Fawn star dies.

Thanks for looking.

Deep Red Stamps Pink Mosaic card

I have a new card using a stamp by Deep Red Stamps. I heat embossed the mosaic image with Versa Mark ink and Stamp N Plus white embossing powder onto Ranger's watercolor cardstock. Then I tried out my Peerless Watercolors with some water and a small tip paint brush. I just love the way it turned out with so many bright colors. I did the same type of card in blues which you can see HERE.

The patterned paper is by Die Cuts with a View (older stack that was a summer theme) and the cardstocks by Recollections. The fussy cut image is in the negative of the Spellbinders die cuts. The ribbon is from Michael's and the sentiment is a K and Co sticker.

Time 2 Celebrate

Sorry I have been MIA. Recent health developments limit me ability to get downstairs to my studio to work and create. Plus I'm finishing up 2015 calendars and I just don't think 2016 calendars will be made for next year. My heart is just not into it anymore.

I'm sharing a fun, bright and girly card to welcome in the new year. My patterned papers are by DCWV, the doily is by Little Yellow Bicycle, the rick rack is by The Paper Studio, chipboard flower by Maya Road which is painted with Making Memories paint. The flower stamps and punches are by Stampin Up with Hero Arts shadow inks and the centers of the flowers are by Want 2 Scrap (small rhinestones) and Forever in Time (large rhinestone). The sentiment die cut is by Elle's Studio with the sentiment by Just Rite stamps and ink by Hero Arts. Oops I missed the leavesoff the small flowers. They are a die cut by Elizabeth Crafts on white cardstock and then inked with distress ink and sprayed with water.

Thanks for stopping by.

The red graph patterned background paper is by GCD and the blue flakes paper is by DCWV. I triple set the ribbon starting with a white satin from my MIL's stash, then some Stampin Up blue scalloped polka dot with red ribbon on top which is by Ben Franklin. Through the Craft Room Door

Today there is a new Through the Craft Room Door  which is Anything goes.

I'm a new DT member to this challenge and here is my first card. We were sponsored by Little Claire and here is this fun elephant image that I got to play with. I printed it out onto HP photo paper and used Ranger's alcohol inks to create this color over the elephants. It took a ton of practicing to get the right color to match the DCWV patterned paper. I matted the image onto black Recollections cardstock and finished it off with some Tim Holtz jute and a button I had on hand.

Thanks for looking.

Do you wanna build a snowman?

Today is the first day of the Sassy Studio Designs Facebook challenge. It's pretty cool because they give you the image for free and all you have to do is make something with that image before Dec 26th and upload it to the FB album. Here are the prizes:

1st Place- Will recieve a $10.00 gift card and also gets to be guest designer for the month. Which entitles them to more free images and new release images for that month.

2nd Place- $10.00 gift card.

3rd Place- $5.00 gift card

This month the free image is Olaf and he also comes with a sentiment that is super cute but I didn't use it for this card. I printed him out onto Cryogen cardstock and lightly colored him with Copic markers. I decided to fussy cut him out leaving a little border around the edge of the. I dug out some old DCWV patterned paper that I just had a few pieces to work with. I adhered the background paper to a white Recollections card front and then matted the second piece of patterned paper onto blue cardstock also by DCWV.

The snowflake is foamy in dimension and part of a huge bucket of shapes for the winter season that I bought my niece from Hobby Lobby. The rick rack, though hard to see because it is the same color as the background paper is by My Mind's Eye. The sentiment is a word die by Stampin Up, which is cardstock from an old Hallmark invitation that I will never use. It came from my Mother In Laws cards and things that I just went through and organized for her. I covered the die cut with a clear Wink of Stella pen. It does sparkle in real life. THANKS FOR LOOKING.

So I hope you will join us on the Sassy Studio Designs Facebook page for some free images and the chance to win great prizes. It is a closed group that you send a request to join and someone gets to it within 24 hours. Then you send a request for the images via email. I tell you all this so you will jump over there and get the goods before Dec 26th rolls around. HERE is a list of the rules for this challenge. Good Luck

Fall Thanks Cards for Chalk Ah Lot Café

I forgot to post my Chalk Ah Lot card for the start of the last challenge. So today I will post both cards. The challenge is Thanks/Thankful/Thanksgiving with chalk. All of the powdered chalk I used on my two cards is by Stamp N Plus. I combine the powdered chalk with their paint and use a fine-tip paintbrush to apply the mixture to my card. I used many different colors for these two cards which can be found over on the right-hand side of the website.

For the first card, I stamped and heat embossed a cornucopia stamp by Stamp N Plus. Colored it in as told above and then inked the edges with distress ink. The image is matted onto patterned paper by DCWV and adhered to the card front with foam adhesive. The card front has patterned paper by K and Co, a doily by Little Yellow Bicycle, the ribbon by The Paper Studio, and a wooden feather by Maya Road that has been painted with red crackle paint by Ranger.

My second card is an embossing folder by Cuttlebug that I painted over the raised area. The sentiment is by Stamp N Plus and the orange paper behind is by CGull.

Thanks for looking.

Guest designing for Sassy Studio Designs I have a Flashback Friday card to share. This image is on sale this week for $2.00 along with another one. I printed her out onto Cryogen cardstock and colored her in with Copic Markers. Then I die cut her out with a Spellbinders die and also the die cut the next size up in brown cardstock. The background paper is by Die Cuts with a View and the cardstock is by Recollections. The border punch is by Fiskars and I punched it out twice on the same strip of paper. The ribbon is from my stash and that's all there is to it. Thanks for looking.
I updated the font, photos, & title on 11-12-22

Deep Red Stamps Wedding Card

I made this wedding card using a bubbles stamp from

You can find the stamp at
Or

I die cut the glasses using my Cricut with silver paper by Creative Memories. I stamped the bubbles out on white cardstock with silver pigment ink. The pigment ink dries very slowly and therefore I ended up waiting a few days for it to dry. I added it to the back of the die cut and trimmed around the edges. Then I used yellow vellum to create the look of champagne.

The patterned paper is quite busy and it makes it hard to see the swirl die cut on the left behind the glasses but that and it's shadow were cut out using the Cricut. The white cardstock is by Recollections and the purple by Bazzill.

The Your wedding is a metal stencil by Dreamweavers that I applied white embossing paste and glitter to a piece of shiny black cardstock by DCWV. It's really pretty and sparkly in real life.

Thanks for looking

Deep Red Stamps Fall Card

Today's card features a couple of stamps by

There are so many layers to this card. The background patterned paper is by Provo Craft {very old}. Then there is a charcoal colored patterned paper that is by DCWV. Thr corrugated piece of kraft cardstock is by Oriental Trading Co. I have a Fiskars tool that corrugated the cardstock.

The frame is unknown however I stamped it with a Deep Red background stamp called Crochet Background.
You can find the stamp at
or
I stamped it with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with Ranger's copper embossing powder. I inked the frame with distress ink

 Then we have two pieces of wood veneers by Maya Road that I painted with Ranger Adirondack Metallics Acrylic pint in gold and mixed with copper Perfect Pearls to give the copper color. {I don't have copper colored paint so I made my own}

On the pennant wood veneer I stamped the word friend from the If Friends were Flowers stamp to get my sentiment.
You can find this stamp at
or
In hind site I wish I would have stamped it with a darker color but by this point I wasn't going back.

The doily was made by my Grandmother in law and then I layered a Ranger/Tim Holtz Idealology foliage with a brad. The other brad is from the same package.

Friend Card

So I made this card using a flower set from Newton's Nook. I really love the different vases and this jar for the flowers they have in the set. I stamped the jar, flowers and word stamps with black Hero Arts ink onto Ranger's distress watercolor paper. Then I colored the flowers in with distress markers, inked the edges with distress ink and made the inside of the jar blue with distress ink. Then I added Glossy Accents to the inside of the jar. The rest of my card the patterned paper is by DCWV and Pebbles, the ribbon by Stampin Up the yellow cardstock by Recollections and punch by EK Success.

Thanks for looking.
