Manly Monday Black Background Music card

I made this background using thin patterned paper and an old Fiskars texture plate. From there I tested different red Copic markers on it to see if they needed to be refilled. Then I thought it was a good idea to go direct to paper with Black Soot distress oxide. That is a juicy ink pad and it saturated the paper all the way through.
The image was cut out, and not very well from a patterned paper by Feature Art in Australia. I had to go around the edges with a dark grey Couture Creations alcohol marker to make them look even.
The sentiment is an old rubber cling stamp by Fiskars. I stamped it out with Versa Fine black ink. The stars are from a birthday present die that I found with no packaging.
These cards are going out for donation.
Thanks for looking. HAGD!
I’ve been using this challenge to make and use products in different ways that I haven’t before. Idk if my projects are exactly right for this challenge but it’s helping my creative block.

Manly Monday Surfboards with a Big Wave

I made this card for Craft Roulette #227

Project: 4x8

 Colors: Mountain

Element: Float(s) or floating.

Random: Water

I made the background when I added water to leftover distress oxide on my mat. I smooched the paper onto the mat and tada. I followed up by adding yellow distress ink in the upper right corner. For the sand, I ripped paper and inked it with distress oxide.

The wave is a Cricut cut. It’s messed up. I think the pieces got lost on my desk. I had cut out a few different waves and then got distracted by something else. Then as a try to make the wave look better I got out an old Fiskars textile plate and a stylus to put waves onto the waves. It was a fail. LoL! So to try and make the wave better I pounced on powdered chalk. Meh.

The chair die cuts are by Gina Marie. The surfboards are stamps by A Stampers Journey. I added the arrow like pattern with a colored pencil.

Thanks for looking. HAGD!

Black and white with blue Chipboard Card

The polka dot velvet patterned paper is by the Doodlebug. The white, black, blue, layers are chipboard pieces layered on top of each other. The blue chipboard is by Colorbok and the others are by American Crafts. The sentiment is by Fiskars.

I’m going to try and explain this ribbon thing so that the future me will understand, maybe.

The ribbon is two sided; one side is black and the other is black with white polka dots. So what you’re seeing is both sides of the ribbon because the ribbon goes around the whole stack of chipboard you see the side with polka dots closest to the card base and when it comes out from behind the back you see the polka dots pattern. When it goes around the front, it passes through the belt buckle shaped chipboard and up to the top with the black facing front. Then I stapled them in place. It’s going to cost a little bit (a lot) of postage to mail it but it will be worth it.

 Thanks for looking.

Celebrate Cream and Green Hand Stamped background card

The card base was stamped with a leaf stamp and then if you look closely at the edges there's a straight line with swirls on it. Pretty. It would be nice if I knew who made that and the leaf stamp. The flowers are the cutouts of a border punch from Fiskars. The sentiment is a diecut by Crafter's Companion. Thanks for looking.

Manly Monday layered Orange and Black Birthday card

I thought the card above was finished, but then I decided to add the plaid patterned paper behind the front card panel and liked it so much more.

So for the new card, the patterned paper is by Cosmo Cricket. Birthday die by Clearly Besotted. I cut out one with orange Bazzill cardstock and another with black Recollections cardstock. When I glued them together I offset the black one under the orange.

The epoxy stickers are by Cloud 9 which is a company of Fiskars. The dotted line is made with an orange pen. Thanks for looking.

Manly Monday Iris Folding fish card

This is an image from "the drawer". I did this iris folding technique years ago. I made the background with blue Distress ink. I used a Fiskars border punch as a stencil at the top. It created a nice wave. The image is from Stamp N Scrappin. The sentiment is a sticker by Mrs. Grossman. Thanks for looking.

October Calendar Layout Brrrr Mom it's Cold Outside

Today is my Mom's birthday. She would have been 76. After she died in July 2019 from complications of dementia and failure to thrive we held a memorial at the funeral home. Then we did a burial of her ashes on her birthday, October 12, 2019. It was so cold that day that I couldn't use normal colors for an October calendar page.  The patterned paper on the left is by Recollections and by Basic Gray in the Cricut title. Snowflakes by Maya Road and Jolee's. The border punch is by Fiskars. Thanks for looking.

Manly Monday Poker BIL's Card

This is the front of the card. The crimper is by Fiskars. The little playing cards are dies by Quickutz. The patterned paper underneath the straight flush is by Tim Holtz. I'm not sure about the bottle cap but it beautifully fits in as a 10 of hearts. The alphabet stamps are by Oriental Trading Co. It's a great little set.
And this is the inside of the card. The inside letters are Michael's. I thought it was witty
Straight Flush? Nope! 4 of a kind for our 7 card stud
because he turned 47
But now that I read again, it's hard to understand.

This is a fabric that I used heat and bond to attach the fabric to the cardstock.
Cricut cut the four and seven.
And then I tripped on the finish line and cut the word kind in the wrong spot. It turned out fine.
Thanks for looking.

4 Little Hedgehogs Sitting on a Card

I'm entering my Hedgehog cards into the following Challenges:

The hedgehog stamp is from Close to my Heart and I colored them in with different color combos of Copic markers.

The blue card was made with scraps of blue cardstock behind the image. I inked the "sky" with distress ink. The sentiment was made with my Cricut pens and on the inside, it says “Here comes another birthday.”

The pink card has the same sentiment as the blue one but it’s on vellum. The pink patterned paper is a recycled store-bought card.

This next hedgehog image looks like a late birthday card because of the way the hedgehog has his head hanging down.

First I'm going to talk about the brown card on the right. The patterned paper is by Creative Memories. I bought the die behind the hedgehog off of eBay. The border punch by Fiskars and I like how nice the white tone-on-tone looks. The sentiment stamp is an oldie by Bo Bunny. I curved the stamp inside my MISTI to follow the shape of the hand-cut hedgehog stamps.

For the yellow card, the background is a Project Life card. Then I die cut the same Spellbinder label die in different shades of yellow and then dry embossed them with embossing folders by Gina Marie, Sizzix, Cuttlebug, and Darice. I put distress ink and Oxide on some of them and on the bottom die cut I used a white gel pen to accent the bird. I used the same sentiment as the brown card.

I have two more things.
The picture below shows the same design idea of using the small dies in your stash to make a pattern.
Lastly, I wanted to show that the store-bought card was big enough to make two cards. See the next pictures.

May Calendar Layout. Christmas photo

Hi from rainy Michigan. The last two days gave us some great sunshine. Still chilly but being in the sun was nice. The May layout comes from my brother’s calendar. You can’t tell but this picture was taken at Christmas. The patterned paper is either by Echo Park or Little Yellow Bicycle. The blue border paper is from Deja Views and the punch is by Fiskars. The other border punch is by Martha Stewart out of white cardstock. The butterfly and flower die cuts are from K and Co. Thanks for looking.
