Holly Hobby Flying a Kite Card

I made this Holly Hobby card for
The parameters were:
Project: A2 size card
Colors: A donut shop-I think sprinkles on donuts are pink, blue, and green.
Element: Dolly- When I was growing up, Holly Hobby was my doll, wallpaper, blanket, and decorations. You get it.
Random: A purse or pockets- HH has pockets in her dress.

I colored the image in with Copic markers, but there was something about the sky that I wasn’t able to get the way I wanted it with the Copic markers. I got out my new Distress Crayons. I had no idea how to use them, so I got out some reinforcement. I used a blender and then a water brush. It doesn't look great but I'm saying that this is an artistic approach to making a sky.

The background patterned paper is from Papertrey Ink. The sentiment puffy stickers are by Glitz. The clear stickers are by Mrs Grossman’s.
The reason for two photos is to show the card in vivid mode and regular mode of my camera.
Thanks for looking. HAGD!

Day of the Dead Cards

We have a new swap theme this month and it's Day of the Dead. I had to Google that one. The only thing I knew about it was from the animated movie "Book of Life". So I made quite a few of them because I wasn't sure where I was going with this at the time. But they all have the same supplies:

Skull stamp-Etsy
Scallop circle stamp-Close to my Heart
Heart circle-Technique Tuesday
Flower stamp and colored pencils-Stampin Up
Embossing powders by- Stamp N Plus and Ranger
Ink - Black distress ink, Hero arts and Versa Mark
Sticker sentiments-Glitz Designs

Shabby Chic Cards

I'm not a shabby chic kind of gal but thought I'd take the challenge for an ATC swap. I started by running the base thru the Xyron upside down and adhering some lace scraps to the card. Then I picked out some scraps blue patterned paper by Basic Grey and some peach colored Die Cuts with a View cardstock.

I knew I wanted to use these giant rhinestones by Glitz. They have a lot of dimension and I can't see using them for a card or scrapbook page. That's where an ATC can be a perfect canvas for things you love but can't use in other places. The half circles of rhinestones are by Heidi Swapp. They were complete circles until I cut them in half. So each card has the giant rhinestone, a half of a blue rhinestone circle and a Tim Holtz die cut word.

The other products I used:
Flowers by Recollections
Chipboard circle by Prima
Deckled edge square punch by McGill Craftivity which I cut in half
Pearls by Forever in Time
and
I did end up using some brads to hold the flowers in place and dotting some i's. I wasn't able to get the glue dot to adhere to the lace.

Hope you like them. Thanks for looking.

Kindness Campaign Card Drive Brighten your day Card

My card today uses a beautiful Deep Red Stamp called

I stamped this row with distress ink on Forever in Tim cream cardstock. I border punched the edge with a Fiskars punch. I did the same punch on green patterned paper by Studio G, which I think is a by company of Hampton Arts. I don't understand why companies do that where they come out with products under a different name. Smh.

The orangish patterned paper is by Basic Grey and the green background paper has been dry embossed with large circles. I believe that paper may have come off a store bought card. Please Recycle! The giant rhinestone is by Glitz and the sentiment sticker by K and Co.

This card is for the the Kindness Campaign Card Drive. Check it out and consider donating a card or two.

Manly Monday Quad

Edited April 2021 see the sidebar for an explanation

MY card this week features a quad stamp by Deep Red Stamps that you can find at
Scrapbook.com
or
A Cherry on Top.
This is a new one to my blog. I stamped it with Hero Arts black ink onto Recollections white cardstock and fussy cut it out. The wood grain patterned paper is by Glitz and the green is by Basic Grey. The flag and and alpha letters are also by Basic Grey. The quad is popped up with 3M foam adhesive and then tucked the flag behind it. I did put some multi-medium matte under it to make sure it would stay put. And that's it. So easy to do guy cards. Less is more for them.

Welcome back to Manly Monday. I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was busy but yet  did get a bit of crafting time in to make some cards to share on here. But right now let's get to the cards. Be sure to visit the blogs below by clicking on the blog name above the clip.

Steampunk Vivian

Today I have the last of the steampunk Flashback Friday's for Sassy Studio Designs. I'm glad we were challenged to do steampunk because I really like the way my cards have turned out.

In today's card I used patterned paper by Pebbles (blue/green) and GCD (black). On the black paper I dry embossed a Darice folder of cogs and screws. The image is on Cryogen cardstock and colored with Copic markers. I applied paint mixed with powdered chalk by Stamp N Plus on the cogs around the image. The die cuts are by Spellbinders with Die Cuts with a View glitter paper. The ribbon is by The Paper Studio from Hobby Lobby and the epoxy sticker sentiment is by Glitz Designs.

Dreamweaver Stencils Hello

Happy Thursday everyone and welcome to another creation for Dreamweaver Stencils. The theme this month is Frilly and Fabulous. So break out the frou frou! Vintage, retro, or modern, adding extra charm with fun Fran tage' products from Stampendous, ribbons and lace from May Arts, buttons, crystals, charms, or even creating your own dimensional decor. A snippet or a pile, whatever your creative heart desires. Link up your creations at the Dream It Up! blog for a chance to win the stencil of your choice! Bonus points for using Dreamweaver and/or Stampendous products in your work of heart.

My new card is using one of their new stencils called

I taped off the other tools with painters tape and inked the stencil with Ranger's distress ink. Then I paste embossed the tool with translucent embossing paste. After it dried, I fussy cut it out and decided to make like I was using the pen. I wrote the Hello in pencil and pierced holes into the paper following my handwriting. I erased the pencil lines and sewed some floss into the holes with a back stitch. Once I was at the end of the word I had to continue the floss up to the tip of the pen. I was short on space for the pen so I made my card longer than my standard 5 1/2. The patterned paper is by My Mind's Eye. The sentiment on the bottom is by Stampendous which I stamped with Hero Arts Charcoal ink. The embellishment is by Glitzy.

Christmas Card

Happy World Cardmaking day. I think I will be back with more cards since I can take part in challenges and what-nots online.

This month at Christmas Cards All Year Round the challenge is Embellish it. I took mine to a new level of embellishing, well at least for me. But hey it's all good.

The digital stamp Holly Ornament is by Beccy's Place, which I colored in with Copic markers. Then I fussy cut the image out and taped it onto a Sizzix die cut. The red and white cardstock in my card is by Recollections and the chevron patterned paper is by Glitzy. The sentiment stamps and the banner they are in are by Hero Arts using Simon Says Stamp red ink and Tsukineko green. The sequins are by Craft Medley and rhinestones by Imaginisce. To finish the card I added Sticko poinsettia and leaves stickers to the corners.

Deep Red Stamps Haute Couture card

This particular mannequin stamp can be found at A Cherry on Top. I heat-embossed the stamped image using Versa Mark ink and black embossing powder by Stampendous. I then matted the image onto a black and cream cardstock but before I taped them down I punched them out with a Martha Stewart punch. Thanks Martha. The patterned paper in my card is by Cosmo Cricket and the stickers are by Glitz Design. I punched an off-white circle to put behind the sticker
Very sweet and simple today with limited products to mention. Thanks for looking.

Smooch Invites

While I wait for this silver Smooch to dry I wanted to show you one of the invitations I made for my sister-in-laws family reunion. I went very simple because I was low on time and so was she.
So I found these cards at Michaels in the dollar bin so you know it is a card not a tag. I sprayed with Smooch (by Clearsnap) then placed the Glitz Design paper on it and the title, which I stamped with Colorbox ink by Clearsnap. Very simple but does the job:) Happy Friday everyone.
