Floral Friday a Negative and Positive card

I love to Upcycle> Recycle> Reuse> Repurpose> and Reduce the trash.
For my two cards today I extracted the sentiment out of Aunt Gail's store-bought card and I was able to make these two cards. Can you see where the cards were one and became two?

I started with a lavender card base and then layered patterned paper by Basic Grey that was 1/8" smaller around the edges. The rhinestones and enamel stickers are from my stash.
The sentiment is from a store-bought card and I cut it out with a die from Kaisercrafts. So instead of throwing away the yellow cardstock, it came from...tada!

Look, it's the yellow cardstock from above. Isn't that cool? Why haven't I done this before? Anyway, I added polka dot patterned paper by Studio G behind the yellow cardstock.
I stamped the large sentiment with Hero Arts ink and it never evenly dispersed into the cardstock. I stamped it multiple times with the MISTI. I decided to color in the bare spots with my Stampin' Up watercolor pencils to fill in the bare spots.
The fun arrow and banner combo come from the Scrapbook Expo.

Teacher Appreciation Week Thank You Cards

You never want to hear the words “we had a lockdown today”. Worse yet it was because someone was in the building. That’s when I made these cards the night of the lockdown day. They’re not awesome cards but they were appreciated by the principal and vice principal. I didn’t take many pictures or close ups of them except that one. It was 6am and hubs was leaving for work.

The patterned papers are by Kaiser Crafts. The big Thank you and Grateful stamps are by The Paper Co. The yellow and green patterned papers are oldies by Provo Craft.

Thanks for stopping by. HAGD.

Together Forever from this Day Forward

Today I have another ring card for you. You can see the first one I posted HERE. The diamond is a Sweet Stamp Shop stamp however they no longer sell it. I think that you could use THIS one by Ellen Hutson or THIS die set or Lawn Fawn has a new wedding set.

The actual ring is platinum heat embossed white cardstock that I did a Jennifer McGuire trick by taking the Versa Mark ink pad and patting it onto white cardstock in a large enough area to fit my circle punches. I punched a small circle first and then a larger circle just outside the small circle to make a ring. I used punches by Creative Memories and EK Success.

The background of the card was also heat embossed in platinum. The background stamp is by Hero Arts and the watercolor paper is by Ranger. Then I watercolored the background with Black Soot distress ink and water. I cut the embossed piece down and matted it with black cardstock by Recollections. The die cut the ring is on is by Spellbinders. The sentiment is a rub on by Kaisercrafts that I put on vellum by The Paper Studio.

With Love Card

Today's card came together using stamps and matching dies by Clearly Besotted by using distress inks to make the image multiple colors. The cardstock is by Recollections and the patterned paper is by My Mind's Eye. The sentiment is a Kaisercrafts rub-on.

Nice and easy. I think this card would be great for any occasion. Just leave it blank inside and add one when needed.

Happy Birthday Card

My next new card uses a new to me craft item called chalk markers by Chalkola. They are a marker that you can use on any non porous surface and then wipe away with a wet cloth. I've been experimenting with them for a couple of weeks and have some great posts coming up talking about them. They have a Facebook page for you to check out. There are a bunch of different videos on the markers for you to see.

For this card I used the marker as my ink for two stamps. The first one is the present in the circle. It is a clear stamp by, I think, Fiskars. I took the marker and colored the ink onto it and stamped on white cardstock. Since I used the chalk marker on paper if you swipe the present the ink will come off. I did the same thing for the stars in the background, however I did first and second generation stamping to see how I would like it. Since the markers weren't intended to be used on paper and the image may smear this card will be a family card. lol. My thought was I took the time to stamp them out I better make them into a card. This is an 11 layer card - Crazy, I know, right.

The coral/pink paper is by Color-Aid and black and white cardstock by recollections. The circle punches are by EK Success. The other patterned paper is by Kaisercrafts. The happy die is by Clearly Besotted and the birthday die is by Papertrey Ink.

Dreamweaver's With Love

Today's card features a Poppy Circle stencil by Dreamweaver Stencils as well as white embossing paste and Metallic FX powder. I'm not sure why I used white embossing paste on blue cardstock but I did and it turned out pretty. After it dried I applied the Metallix FX powders with Q-Tips. The die cut behind the image was cut out with my Cricut. They had a bunch of corner cuts for free on Cricut Craft Room one week. I merged two of the same corner together and created this box die cut.

The patterned paper is by Studio G and I placed ribbon by The Paper Studio down the center. The image with die cut was adhered to the patterned paper with foam squares by EK Success. Then the sentiment is a rub on by Kaisercrafts. The rectangles were from a window die I cut out a bunch for this seniors program that I work with at church. I had a ton of these little rectangles and didn't have the heart to throw them away. So it worked well for this card. I'll need to come up with more ways to use the. The rhinestone is by Forever in Time.

1st Grade for Steve

So I'm working on the Groh family books right now and wanted to share another piece of my creating with you. This project came together when my husband's dad passed in 2013 and it became evident his mother had memory issues. Turns out she has Alzheimer's and needed to be placed in a home. She is doing wonderfully there and enjoys that she has friends from church that live there, so it's OK. Not like the horror stories you hear about putting parents into homes.

My husband's mother took a large amount of photos and they all got sent to my house. Ugh! What am I going to do with them? This is what I came up with. Each boy gets a book and then there will be a family book that can live at someone's house. I'm using the We Are Memory Keepers Albums made Easy "system". The only "problem" is the pictures aren't 4x4 like the sleeve you put them in. I have to mat each one on some cardstock or patterned paper so the photos don't fall out. It's a job matching the colors with the picture colors and making sure it's not too girly.

This layout is one that I had to scrap on regular 12x12 paper and use a different protective sleeve then the 4x4. The background paper is by Kaiser Crafts and the left side patterned paper is by Deja Views. It and the title patterned paper were scraps from my scrap tote that I thought worked well. The title is cut from Cricut and the digital cartridge is called K-12. The embellishments came from Little Yellow Bicycle.

This is the other side of page where I do the 4x4 cards. I try to match the 12x12 and 4x4 papers together so it looks cohesive. The 1970 in the bottom left is Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge out of one patterned paper I don't know and the other is by Making Memories. The circle stamps are by Close to My Heart with Stampin Up brown ink. The other alphabet stamps are by Lawn Fawn-Harold. I find that alphabet small enough to work with these photos without having to cut them.

Birdcage kind of Love

I think today's card could be used for a couple of occasions such as bridal shower, anniversary, thank you and maybe even a birthday. The shaped card base is from Michael's and the patterned paper in black is by DCWV. The white cardstock is by Neenah and the black by Recollections.

The die cuts are the negative of yesterdays card which you can see just below this post. The frame has another layer that I cut out in white however I didn't end up using the white on yesterdays card. I took the inside piece of cardstock and laid on top of it a netting from some fruit. I then sprayed it with Glimmer Mist and a touch of Smooch spritz. The Glimmer Mist is by Tattered Angels and the Smooch is by Clearsnap. On the die cuts is a bird cage sticker by My Mind's Eye with a rub-on by DCWV for the chain.

I stamped the corners with a rubber stamp by Deep Red Stamps. You can find Deep Red Stamps HERE or HERE. I heat embossed them using ink by Versa Mark and embossing powder by Stampin Up. You can find that flourish stamp set HERE or HERE.

To finish my card I placed a rub-on sentiment by Kaiser Craft over the embossed stamp area. I wasn't sure it would work but was willing to try and it worked great. Those rub-ons are good quality.

Thanks for stopping by.

Plucking a Peacock

My card today features another Deep Red stamp. This one can be found HERE. I love how this came together using distress inks from Ranger. I had to Google a peacock feather to get the color pattern down but I think I could have used any color combo and it would look cool with this stamp.

The patterned paper and ribbon are by My Mind's Eye the cardstock is by Coredinations and Colorbok. The watercolor paper that I stamped on is by Royal and Langnickel. I heat embossed the peacock image with Versa Mark ink and Stampin Up embossing powder. For the image, I used a blending tool in mostly green and then put some blues in down the center. The darkest blue Faded Jeans is in the center of the eye. After I die cut the image and a matte cardstock, which the second I inked while it was still in the die, I sprayed them with water to get that watercolor look.

The decorative edge is also a Spellbinders die that I embossed and placed rhinestones in the center hole. The sentiment is a rub-on by Kaiser Crafts and the butterfly is a Recollections brad.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look. Be sure to visit Deep Red Stamps eBay for 400 different stamps made by Deep Red Stamps.
