Manly Monday multiple steps background

The background doesn’t really look like much, but it took a couple of steps to get there. I don’t love it but somebody will love getting this card. What I see and what the recipient sees are very different.
The card base is cherry red and I was going to work that background into an orange red like the sentiment card. Stand back! LoL!
I took a background stamp from Stamping Up, inked it with black distress oxide ink and placed the card on top of it. I sprayed the background with water and hit it with the heat tool. I heavily inked the background with two oxides and the one I know was Rusty Hinge. I went direct to paper and it wasn’t changing the color like I thought it would. While the ink was still wet I heat embossed it with clear powder. The embossing didn’t cover it completely but that’s okay

Manly Monday Tree silhouette die cut

The tree background die is by Dreamweaver Stencils. The yellow background was made using distress oxide. The bottom edge is made up of border punches just 2 layers to make it look fuller. After I added the tree die to the background I dry embossed it with an embossing folder by The Paper studio at Hobby Lobby. I added distress oxide over the whole thing before added a upcycled thank you tag.
I’m entering this card into the thank you challenge at Simon Says Stamp. And Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge Thank you 😊

This card was made with a piece of basic gray patterned paper and a piece of copper metallic paper that has texture. The sentiment is by Bo Bunny, and the brad is by Creative Imagination.

The background paper is by Accord Publishing. This time I colored the die cut with a Copic Markers. I cut the edge thin so that it would sit inside the frame of the patterned paper.

The background inside the frame was made with distress ink. I tried to make it look like a the shadows of the tree trunks. I ripped a piece of paper on the bottom edge of the tree and made it look like dirt. Hopefully it did.

Thanks for looking and reading my long post.

Manly Monday Kayak card

I made this card for a friend's husband's birthday. This old cling stamp set is by TPC Studio. I heat embossed the kayak with Salty Ocean embossing glaze by Ranger. Then I used distress oxides to palette paint the kayak in. The paddle is heat embossed with Stampendous silver embossing powder and colored in the same way.
The background...I made a bunch of these that day while experimenting with different-sized paintbrushes.  I took a chance and painted close to the kayak with a large wet brush and this is what it looked like. I love it. I have to thank Simon Says Stamp for challenging me to roll my sleeves up and play.  It feels great to use some of the fun products I've collected throughout the years. Thank you.

Manly Monday Black Background Music card

I made this background using thin patterned paper and an old Fiskars texture plate. From there I tested different red Copic markers on it to see if they needed to be refilled. Then I thought it was a good idea to go direct to paper with Black Soot distress oxide. That is a juicy ink pad and it saturated the paper all the way through.
The image was cut out, and not very well from a patterned paper by Feature Art in Australia. I had to go around the edges with a dark grey Couture Creations alcohol marker to make them look even.
The sentiment is an old rubber cling stamp by Fiskars. I stamped it out with Versa Fine black ink. The stars are from a birthday present die that I found with no packaging.
These cards are going out for donation.
Thanks for looking. HAGD!
I’ve been using this challenge to make and use products in different ways that I haven’t before. Idk if my projects are exactly right for this challenge but it’s helping my creative block.

Manly Monday Balloon die cuts Birthday card

I found these balloon die cuts amongst the things people gifted me. I’m going to guess that they are by Creative Memories. The check patterned paper, also a gift is by Colorbok. The oval-ish white die is by Scrapbooking Made Simple. The thread was probably hanging off of my husband’s shirt. I tied that around the bottom of the balloon. The card needs a sentiment but I don’t want to cover up the thread. Thank you for visiting my blog.

Manly Monday E=Mc2 Graduation card

This is a Craft Roulette card episode #259. The parameters were: a card with two folds, Math, and markers. The color parameter was Jelly beans. The colors are too loose meaning you could use any colors. So, a Zoom group and I pull a card out of the Color Cube and make that the color parameter. I like more of a challenge. Idk.
My card is a matchbox card. The background, E=Mc squared stamp is by Deep Red Stamps. I stamped it with black ink and blended my background with distress oxides. The grad cap was made with my Cricut. The sentiment die is by Spellbinders, and the sentiment is from Stamps of Life. The ribbon is from Michael's. I colored the white line in the middle with a Copic marker.
Thanks for stopping by.

Manly Monday Anchor Card

The patterned paper is by Studio G. The embossed paper is by Colorbok. The sentiment is a stamp by Stampendous that I cut out with a Spellbinders die.  While the paper was still in the die I embossed it using a rubber mat and then inked it with distress ink.

This card was supposed to go for Kendra‘s card challenge #10 but I didn’t like it. So it sat in the “To Be Finished” box waiting for an occasion or to come up with a brilliant way to finish it.

The sketch that inspired my card is in the upper right corner. Keep in mind, sketches are there to spark your creativity, and this was mine loosely based on the sketch.

Thanks for looking. HAGD!

Manly Monday Colored Pencils Bird on a Tree

I made this card for Craft Roulette #258 with the guest May May Helms. The parameters were:

The images are by Maya Road. The tree has a trunk with some bare branches. I had to do some masking to fill the tree with leaves and put the bird on top. One of the parameters was pencils, so I used colored pencils on my image.

This is the background made with distress ink. Thanks for looking. HAGD!
