Manly Monday Zombie sending hugs Card

The card above needed something…

So as you can see I started with one card and decided to go with my gut and add a zombie. Whenever in doubt add a zombie. What’s happening with me? Craft Roulette is happening to me. Mary says so many cards would not have been made if it wasn’t for Craft Roulette. The parameters are:
Make a card for a teacher-my card went to a teacher friend who has cat scratch fever.
Color-Tartan
Spring or fall scene-fall scene
Create a wrap- My fabric is ironed on and wrapped around to the back.

The red pattern is fabric and the yellow paper is old. I don’t have a clue by whom. The sentiment is an after-market set from Mercari. One of the words is spelled wrong.
Anyway, the fence die cut is unknown. I layered up 3 of the fence die cuts on top of each other for some dimension that I wouldn’t have been able to do with foam tape. This old tree die cut was cut out with my Cricut. It was out of a patterned paper so I inked it brown. I colored it with some Copic markers. The zombie stamp is from Prickly Pear. Thanks for looking. Have a great week.

Swirling Hot Air Balloon using Embossing Paste Card

Today’s card is a touch factor card. Those blue dots make you want to touch them and look at them more closely.

The hot air balloon stamp is by Prickly Pear Stamps. I colored it in with Copic markers and then fussy cut it out.
The sentiment stamp is unknown.

The background was made with a metal stencil and white embossing paste mixed with blue fx powder. All three of these things are by Dreamweaver Stencils

The back-background was made with distress ink.
I made this grass by turning the distress tool and getting ink from the side of the tool.

Halloween Frame needs some help

Thanks for coming to see my crea8tion
This frame is made with multiple cards and some embellishments that were given to me in a trade.
The only card I could find to link back to is the skull. If you can find any of these cards, comment with the date the card was posted and I'll send you a goodie bag.
However, not all of the frames are cards. I'm going to try to explain which are cards and which are not.

There are 4 rows of 2 frames.
Bottom two are cards-Find them
Next row up, left is a card to find. right is not.
Next row up, left is a card to find. right has already been found.
Top row, Left is not a card right is a card to find.

Christmas Card Layout of Faith 2009

Here's another layout for my Christmas card book. I keep all the photo pictures that people send at Christmas time and scrapbook them into a 8.5 x 11 scrapbook. It's really fun to see the kids grow, however as the kids get into their teens the photo cards don't come as much. Last year I felt like not as many people were sending Christmas cards but this year has been fabulous. We received about 5 cards after the holiday which was fine by me. I love getting mail that isn't a bill.

Anyway, there's kind of a lot going on with this layout and it has a lot of bulk to it but sometimes you have to use that bulky product just for fun. I'm going to start with the border down the left side.

I painted the chipboard swirl with red paint by Pebbles. The felt ribbon is by Oriental Trading Co, which is one of my favorite ribbons ever. The candy die cut is by American Crafts, flower by Recollections and Christmas tree by Jolee's. The ornament at the bottom is by Prickley Pear stamp and it's actually a hot air balloon that I turned upside down. I stamped it with black Hero Arts ink and cut it out. Then I colored it in with Stickles (Ranger) and once it was dried I set a black eyelet through the bottom (or is it the top?) and added some gold Martha Stewart string through the eyelet to add it to my chipboard piece.

The rest of the layout unfolds with striped paper by Die Cuts With a View on top of white cardstock (Recollections). The tag at the top right is a chipboard pennant by Stampin Up that I added red brads to. The tag on top of the pennant is by Jolee's and I stamped the year with Oriental Trading Co stamps and red ink (Stampin Up). At the bottom right corner of the picture I added a green metallic chipboard corner piece (Studio G/Hampton Arts) with a smaller red sparkle corner sticker on top (K and Co).

I followed this sketch but turned sideways and on a 8.5 x 11 size layout. The Scrapfriends website is no longer running to give them credit for this sketch.

Halloween ATC's

I made these ATC's (Artist Trading Cards) for a Halloween swap. On each of the ATC's I made a spooky background by adding distress ink onto a Dreamweaver Stencils tree stencil. The patterned papers are all scraps that came from companies like: Imaginisce, Making Memories and K and Co. The orange paper is by C Gull and has been inked by different colored distress inks. The haunted houses, bats and small children by pumpkins are these vintage die cuts by Eureka that I found in my MIL's craft totes. The stamps are by Stampin Up-a bat stamp and the sentiment stamp with black ink by Hero Arts.

I used a Prickley Pear Zombie stamp and black Hero Arts ink on this set of ATC's. On two of them I die cut a headstone border for the background. The lantern stamp is by Inkadinkado.

Mother's Day Birdcage Card

Today's card is for a Mom this upcoming Mother's Day. The birdcage and bird stamps along with the bird dies are by Prickley Pear. I stamped the birdcage onto white cardstock by Recollections with brown Stampin Up ink. I fussy cut it out and colored in the leaves to match my paper with Stampin Up watercolor pencils. I then punched a whole in the top of the birdcage to set an eyelet with my Crop-o-dile. I ran this string (for lack of a better word) through the top and adhered it to the back of the patterned paper. The "string" is a find from my MIL's craft stuff when she went into a nursing home. The birds are tricky but I found that die cutting them first and then stamping the image was easier then vice versa. I cut out a ton of birds and then stamped them with different Stampin Up inks. I adhered the wings to the appropriate bird before adding them to my patterned paper. The sentiment stamp is a $1 aisle find from Michael's by Studio G and the patterned paper is by Crate Papers.

Happy Halloween Shaker Card with Glitter

I created a fun Halloween shaker card and wanted to share it with you.
The patterned paper is by Bo Bunny and the cardstock by Recollections. The inside of the shaker has orange, white and black glitter. The image inside the shaker is by Inkadinkado stamped with Hero Arts black ink {Best ink Ever!}. The witch on the right is a stamp by Prickley Pear Stamps and is also stamped in hero Arts black ink. The sentiment is by Hero Arts and is stamped in white pigment ink by Stampin Up.
Thanks for looking at my card.

Holiday Cheer

Extending the holidays by spreading a little bit more holiday cheer with my new card today. Sorry I've been neglecting my blog. I had calendars to make for Christmas presents and it consumes my life. I didn't start until December because once I start it takes over all other craft projects until they are done. I still have four more I would like to do but there's no real pressure to get them done like the last 12 I did.

For today's card I took a piece of patterned paper and inked the edges with distress ink and an ink blender. I then sprayed that whole piece with water and gold Perfect Pearls. The semi white corner die cuts were cut out using my Cricut. I added a little bit of green to them to have them blend with the paper. The center piece is Bazzill cardstock that I stamped with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed the Hero Arts stamp with gold embossing powder by Stamp N Plus. I made the strips of glitter by adhering the double sided tape to the card front and then pouring glitter over the exposed side.

The poinsettia die cuts are out of a rusty red color specialty paper that I inked and sprayed with the gold Perfect Pearls by Ranger. The die cut is by Prickley Pear. After I die cut a bunch of them out I bent the edges to make them look crimped. The centers are made up of the micro beads or the dew drops or these gold metal dots with adhesive on them by The Paper Studio.

I hope to back up and running full force after this weekend. Thanks for stopping by.

Squirrel card

My card was featured on the Prickley Pear Stamps blog a week ago and I wanted to share it here too. I won some stamps from them in a blog contest and wanted to use the fall stamps they sent me before fall was over.

I made a Halloween card that was also featured on their blog in late September with their stamps and have more to share before the holiday.

I stamped the squirrel on watercolor paper by Royal and Langnickle and colored it in with distress markers and a water pen both by Ranger Industries. I then die cut the image out using a Spellbinders die and matted it onto a larger with brown cardstock. I inked the inside of the image die cut with Ranger distress ink Antique Linen.

The leaf flourish is a Cricut die that I thought was fitting for this fall card. It has rough edges but again I thought it was OK for this card.

The background paper is actually packaging from Imaginisce that I dry embossed with a Darice embossing folder. The patterned paper is by Recollections and the sentiment sticker is by Flair Designs. The banner die in cream/off white, that the sentiment is on, is cut out using my Cricut and the kraft cardstock (Oriental Trading Co) was hand cut to match the die cut. I did use my Tim Holtz attacher on the patterned paper just for fun.

Another close up of the image.

Mid Month CCAYR

Today marks the middle of the month-where does the time go-which means a mid month post for Christmas Cards all year Round. The theme this month is getting ready for Christmas.

My card today features stamps I won on Prickley Pear's blog. I thought presents were a good image to show preparing for Christmas. I love the holly that is all around the gifts. Very fun to do some shading with those leaves.

I used patterned paper {old} by DCWV and inked the edges with Ranger Industries distress ink. The ribbon down the center is from my stash and is doubled up to add depth but not a ton of bulk. The stamped image is stamped on Strathmore watercolor paper with Hero Arts black ink. I then colored the image in with distress markers and a water pen both from Ranger Industries. The die cut the presents image is on is by Spellbinders and I inked the inside of the die while the paper was still in the die cut with Antique Linen Distress Ink from Ranger Industries.

My sentiment is a sticker by American Crafts on a scrap of the Strathmore paper that I matted onto a scrap of green cardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look.

Manly Monday Father’s Day carD with a plane

Here are some masculine cards I found this week. I hope you enjoy them and will leave them some love on their blogs.

Beer card

Here's my Manly Monday card today. I used a background stamp by Hero Arts using Ranger's Distress ink with the stamp and around the edges of the background and the sentiment as well. For the sentiment I sprayed the paper with water to give it a watercolor effect with the ink. The sentiment is printed from my computer. The cardstock for the background is kraft by Oriental Trading Co.
The green cardstock is by Creative Memories and DCWV. The airplane stamp is by Prickely Pear stamped on white Recollections cardstock and cut out by hand.
Thanks so much for stopping by. If you see a manly card that you think would be a good fit for my weekly Manly Monday post email me at grohcm at gmail dot com.

How ya Doin?

I have an easel card for you today. I made the card base using Spellbinders dies and my Cuttlebug. The front of the card has been stamped with a Stampin Up background stamp using Ranger Industries distress ink. Then I took that same ink and a blender and inked the edges. I cut another scallop circle and cut the top and bottom off  to create the scene with stamps by Prickley Pear (clouds with ink by SU) and Mark's Finest Papers (birds with ink by Hero Arts). The sentiment stamp also by Mark's Finest Papers is stamped with Hero Arts Shadow ink, the patterned paper on the base is by Recollections, ribbon is by Martha Stewart, flower by Creative Memories and rhinestone from a local dollar store.

Thanks for looking.

A Day to Celebrate

Today I have a birthday card to share. This time I used a smashed bottle cap from The Paper Studio as my focal point. It has been smashed down more than when I bought it so it will fit through the mail. Thanks to my hubby. I mounted the bottle cap onto two spellbinders die cuts and placed a K and Co sticker in the middle. I used Glossy Accents by Ranger to adhere the sticker. Then I cut out the banner by Stampin Up and stamped the sentiment by Hero Arts using their ink. On the base of the card I stamped a Heidi Grace border stamp using Hero Arts Shadow ink and then under that a Prickley Pear stamp using Stampin Up ink.
Thanks for stopping by to take a peak.
